washington dc number - left no message - have had several of these

My dad got a call from them and it was on his cellphone voicemail.  Luckily he had me listen to it before he reacted.  He is in a tough financial situation as are millions of Americans and he thought it might be the answer to his nightmares.  I told him to wait until I checked out the validity.  I knew it was a scam, but I want to present him solid proof so he doesn't do anything he will regret later.  All I did was google the website and I got this site.  Thanks for the help!~

202-683-1442 Called me at 12:56 a.m. and woke my family up! I just found out it is from Requestagrant.com..There has got to be something else I can do to fry these b****oles!

This call was made to me at 10:07 pm which is against the law. They said they were from the Cash Grant Institute in Washington DC. They offered to connect me to a live person to assist me in entering my info into the system. I pressed 1 like it asked me to, so that I could yell at someone for calling me so late. Unbelievable.

I did not pick up and a chipper white female-voiced robot left a voicemail about how easy it would be to get grant money from the government and philanthropists--money you NEVER HAVE TO PAY BACK.

She starts, "This is not a sales call! We are calling to let you know about free grant money available from the local, federal, or state government." (etc.)  Free money!  You'll never have to repay it!  (Riiiiight!)

She says to go to requestagrant dot com in order to qualify -- she advises you'll need a valid email address and phone number if you go there.  Ask questions at their "Capitol Hill" number (202 683 1404).  Yes, it is a huge scam, not sure what they ask you for next, probably a credit card number to get the info, but I'm not willing to check it out.  I'm not even sorry for anyone stupid enough to fall for this, they deserve to be ripped off if they fall for this!

202-683-1442 called at 7:57 pm. Did not answer. This is a Washington DC number.

Thanks for the info,I keep getting this number on my caller ID,but I thought it might be a irrational politician looking for support.
