i got the same thing, i also knew it was a scam, if i could figure out how to get the police involved it would be great my first was from a guy named 'steven edwards' looked him up and hes real, the name on the check is from a chick which was scanned on and the person on the envelope is a 'michael long'. and on the check the banks from AL which is funny bc they live in tx. watch out for michael long, steven edwards and a brie smith (name on check)

I came across this because I was so suspicious that I was looking for Craigslist scammers.  He used the name Cole Smith with a gmail address of billsman114.  As soon as I said that I had decided to use PayPal as the method of payment, I never heard from him again.  Apparently he has nothing else to do, except that you would think that he would find different verbiage to use b/c the emails that I received were verbatim of these.

I just got an email via my craigslist add from michlong62@yahoo.com. Still scamming, really pathetic!

This caller said he will buy my item listed on Craig's list for $600 without asking much detail about the product. Here is his email.

This guy is so lame,  As soon as I read this and saw his poor use of english I knew that this had to be a scam.  I have received six emails from obvious scammers in regards to my post on CL, and I even put "Local cash sells only"!  I can believe how many dishonest people there are.

I just got the exact same message (letter for letter) as "Dan 28 Feb 2010".  Glad I checked here, now I know not to go any further with this.
