Customers always get what they are promised.  2 of the following:

32" TV (Usually LG)
8MP Video Camera
$100 to www.diningdough.com
7" Android Tablet (Ice Cream Sandwich OS 4.0 or higher)
$1000

It's not a scam, it's marketing.  They can afford to hand quality gifts out because they're product is good.  1 in 4 buy with Festiva and they have a 91% customer approval rating... doesn't sound too bad to me

My story is much the same. Thanks for your comments. I will not be going even though I made an appointment. Mine said 120 minutes too. Not the 90 many others mentioned. I already own a time share and its almost impossible to get a trade so I just go to the same place every year. Bar harbor, Maine. Luckily it's a great vacation I always make myself take!

I have gone to their office and won prizes. They basically pay you to listen to them. I'd go back if they call me again.

I used to work for festiva and hated people like you. We would tell you the qualifications on the phone and in a email before you come. Just because you don't listen doesn't make it a scam.  Further more even if they didnt tell you that you had to live together how would that be a scam? What would they gain from you wasting your time?

I got a phone call very similar to what Sarah S said. I live in southern mass so they gave me a complimentary hotel for the night because I didn't want to dive 7 hours in one day (3 and a half each way). When I went they told me about different vacations I could go on. I didn't buy one because I  didn't have the money but they have me a TV and a camcorder anyways. I'd recommend anyone who gets the call to go. The worst that'll happen is you don't buy anything and you get free stuff

Festiva is not a scam. I entered a contest and was called to come to their office. After staying the night at a hotel they set up for me I went to a presintation and I actully bought a vacation through them. They treated me better than any other agency I went through. A PLUS rating in my book!!!

They scammed me!  Called me told me I was in final drawing for motorcycle, just had to go to a meet greet set up a time and would get prizes for my time.  Well I went at scheduled time and they turned me away because my boyfriend did not live with me.  They said sorry not eligible for prizes -you have to live together.  Crazy!

I just quit my job.. I was working for someone that was helping Festiva run this scam.. it's unfortunate that I had my budget and everything planned out based on what this guy had said.. I am a single mom and can't afford to be wasting my time like this.. Please try to be nice to the people who talk to you on the phone.. from experience I can tell you that they don't know it is a scam.. Just say no thank you, or not interested and hang up.  It's a lot nicer than chewing those people out for calling you or asking them how they got your number.. we just sit at a computer and the calls come into our headset. We see names and addresses popup on a computer screen.. I don't know how my boss got your number.. all I know is that I just quit working for him when I found out that this place was a scam and I am turning him into the police.  It wasn't from this number, but his business calls people in North Carolina and Tennessee about Festiva.

Just wondering...how is this a scam if you're actually leaving with the items they told you about?  Just because they try to sell you a time share, doesn't mean you have to buy it.  Just take the free items and leave...

I want to thank everyone who posted here and the information that was supplied. I just received two phone calls from them and I do not remember filling out any type of entry form any where. I have only had my phone number less than six months and this person said that the form was filled out a year to a year and half ago. A year and a half ago I was under going a stem cell transplant to fight multiple myeloma, which after I got home from the hospital, I had to remain in the house as I was immune suppressed. How did these people get my number? And what gives this guy Mike the right to get my number, my number is on a do not call list, how ever he got it and sell it to someone else. I have no intention of calling anyone back, and I thank everyone for the information, and if the calls do start to come in, I hope that they enjoy getting yelled at, because I will not tolerate these people calling me continuously.

BEWARE EVERYONE.  THIS IS ANOTHER TPR DEVELOPMENT CO LLC SCAMS.  THEY CHANGED THEIR NAME, THE CORPORATION WAS DISSOLVED (THEY JUST STOPPED FILING CORPORATE RETURNS), AND THE SAME PEOPLE CREATED ANOTHER COMPANY.  THEY HOOK YOU INTO TIME SHARES.  YOU CAN'T EVER GET THE TIME YOU PAY FOR. THEN WHEN YOU STOP PAYING THEY PUT YOU INTO COLLECTIONS, AND DESTROY YOUR CREDIT.  LOOK OUT. DID A LOT OF RESEARCH, THEY SPAN THROUGH MANY STATES, CREATING MANY CORPORATIONS, LLC'S, AND DBA'S.

A small package from them (the place in Portland, 190 Riverside St.) is only $159.00 a month, not anywhere near $400.  You can spend more if you want, but they are adamant that you only spend what is comfortable for your vacationing budget.  They give a gas card, a coupon book for several places like Flagship Cinemas, and also camcorder(sometimes it's a tablet), and you don't have to buy anything.  It's def worth the 90 minute tour/sales pitch.  They also have you sign a paper that proves that they gave you the prizes for attending, whether you buy from them or not.

My husband and I went to a presentation just this week and were not very happy with it at all.  I new going in what it was all about, but the lure of bringing home 2 prizes and a $25 gas card was tempting - we were in Portland that night anyway.  The folks were nice, but very rehearsed.  We sat thru the 90 minute presentation but then had to sit thru another presentation: looking at books, points, and on the computer.  When I advised the gal that I really needed to know the cost, she said she'd get to that later.  Once they finally got to it, $46K!  Of course if we purchased that day we got a reduction, plus some extras but there were all sorts of fees involved.  When I politely explained that we couldn't afford such a thing right now, she called over her manager to offered more reduced prices but we still refused.  They were polite, shook hands and off we went to get our scratch tickets and $25 gas card...at 10:45 PM.  We had been there since 7 PM, getting out that late wasn't too fun.  So we scratch our tickets and win exactly what I thought we would: camera and $100 in dining dough.  The camera is so cheap and flimsy and menu options are all in Japanese!  I gave it to my 9 year old to play around with, it's not good for an adult.  Of course we didn't win the $25K and there was no mention of what I had originally put my name in for...a hot tub.  That's how they get you!  I did appreciate the $25 visa card and was polite when we left.  I kinda felt bad for the gal explaining things to us - it's her job, and we didn't buy anything.  Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a lot of extra $ to throw around and can definitely travel A LOT.  One complaint I do have (other than the ridiculously cheap camera) - festiva called my house the day after and wanted to know why I never showed up...seriously?  Clearly something is going on.

Festiva is not a scam, you do recieve the items that are presented to you through both telephone and what you see at your local malls, restaurant, and county fairs. Everything is legit. Never sign you name on something without reading the entire piece of paper. If you choose to accept their invitation you will leave with someting but if you are one of the few that go and cant affordthe travel option dont be bitter. Be happy that you just received something that you did not have to pay for. If you have something beter to do with your time it is your choice to decline. Festiva workers work hard seven days a week and this is their job. Everything is a business and you must respect that.

What were the prizes you won? There was a place to enter for a hot tub or $25,000 last weekend and we entered. Now we are getting a call from them. Just wondering if the prizes are worth it.

Filled out the contest form at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, La. for the Spider Car as well, a few months ago. Had the same expectations as you...if I won I'd get a call. There was nothing on the form about this Adventure Club Time Share stuff, just a bunch of fill in the blanks.

Just got exactly the same call from a guy named Brian, but decided to google before calling them back. Thank god for this site! Now I know what I would have gotten into if I returned his call. But it looks like he's gonna keep calling I expect.Oh well...

I just got a call from 207-772-8079.  They refreshed my memory about a contest I entered to win $25,000 or a Spider Car.  I do remember filling out the paper, but didn't read any fine print anywhere.  I just assumed that if I win, they would call me and that would be that.  So this is what happend on the phone call.  This guy tells me that I am "GUARANTEED" to win 2 of 5 prizes from scratching a ticket.  A Cam Corder, Android Tablet, $100.00 dining dough, 1000.00 pre paid visa or 32" LG flat screen tv.   Then he says I have to book an appointment to go to 365 Canal Street, Suite 1500, New Orleans.   Both me and my husband have to be there.  When we get there we will also get an "OFFICIAL GAME CARD". Of the 21 boxes on it, we have to scratch off 7 of them.  If they have the same signs, we either win the $25000.00 or the Car.  So then he tells me he is going to transfer me to an appointment agent.  The agent gets on the phone and says that we (my husband and I) are required to listen to a 120 minute group presentation.  At that point, I almost hung up the phone.  Then he says there is no purchase necessary, but we will have to bring in picture ID's and show a name on either a credit card or checkbook.  Not a debit card.  He said the credit card or check book would never leave our sight.   He proceded to ask me if there are any questions.  I asked him what the company name was again.  He said Fiesta Venture Club and then he told me good luck and hung up the phone.  So then I went straight to the computer and googled the phone number and found this web sight.  Also when I typed in Fiesta Ventrure Club it gave me Festiva Venture Club.  So I am not sure what is the correct name either.  Any way, after seeing these post, I don't think I will be attending any 120 minute presentation!  It may not be a scam, but I am not willing to take the chance.  I am having that number blocked from my phone too, because I don't want to deal with them on why I didn't show up.  I guess from now on, I will read more carefully before entering any contest.   Thanks for all the info guys!

Hey JD - Same story here.  Just spent 45 mins on the phone w/ Marcus. He called during dinner, which is typically hectic with young kids, and which doesn't allow for a very focused conversation.  But, I suspect, Festiva knows this and is probably targeting families with young children at specifically this time of the day.  Anyway, he got our attention by mentioning the contest (for a JD Gator) that we entered into at Story Land back in July.  Apparently, we were one of the finalists to win the "grand prize."  After doing some research, including finding this useful thread, we now realize our suspicions were correct: this is a scam.

I was taken aback by the immediate request for a credit card to hold my "free" hotel room. When I mentioned that I had friends in Portland, ME, and that I would stay with them, Marcus said on numerous occasions that he couldn't believe we were not interested in the "awesome free room" at the Holiday Inn.  He then stated that even though we were not taking advantage of the hotel offer, he was still required by law to give us the same chances (at winning a prize) as other people.  I am pretty sure that, because I didn't give my credit card info, I would receive different (non-winning) scratch tickets...

Yes, I know we entered the contest at Story Land, and there may have been the mention of Festiva in the fine print. Nonetheless, I am disappointed in Story Land for allowing such an organization to sponsor a contest on Story Land's premises. I entered a contest to win a free John Deere Gator, not to be entered into a scam pushing timeshares.

Thanks for sharing. I've been receiving calls from a Marcus for a week. I returend the call but kept getting VoiceMail. Today I finally got Him and he ran the game on me. When he asked for my credit card to hold a room at the Portland Marriot for $50, the bells went off. I was at the gym, so at first I missed a lot of what he was saying. But, his persistant to get he $50 came through loud and clear. But I wasn't about to give my credit info to someone I'd never heard of just because they knew I had been at Story Land in the summer. That's another issue I will take up with the Story Land management...

So beware of caller bearing gifts from Portland ME! And don't sign up for thses promotion or expect to get hassled.
