It's a scam, do not answer/call them.  If anything report them to the police.

I received a call from an Indian man who could barely speak English who called me with this script on my voice mail and said, " Hi (first name), Good Afternoon.  This message is for (First name, last name).  This is John Richard calling you from Financial Crime Investigation Bureau.  I'm calling you in regards of a local complaint file which your name has been listed as a primary suspect for doing some criminal activities using your personal and confidential information.  Before it's too late for you, call me back to my division so I can help you from this little matter.  The number to call is (209) 729-0393.  The number again is (209) 729-0393, call me back, it will be in your best interest.  This is John Richard look forward to talking to you.  Until then, God Bless You, have a great day.  Good Bye."

I had applied for some payday loans online (my mistake).  Then money was stolen out of my bank account. Now I have been getting weird and sometimes threatening phone calls like this one.  So I am ignoring these scammers but I am angry at the online site that I applied through when it was legitimate (Money Tree) but offered to send my information to its affiliates if they couldn't help me and this is how the bad people got my information.  I never got any loan money.

This is a total scam.  They probably got your information from a payday lender.   Ignore...they have been reported to the authorities and it's not worth your time to even get upset about it.

This person called me with a deep accent saying his name was "Stephan Williams" which is a very American Name. He threatened me saying I was facing fraud charges and I could be going to court for unpaid fines which I don't have any of. he called me at work and on my personal phone, he also had part of my social security number! I looked online to see who they were and apparently there has been a number of people who got the same calls.
