Same here - just registered for a sales tax permit. Now the calls are flooding in.

After filing for Texas Tax ID, Received 4 calls in less than an hour. Same message trying to give me a credit card machine. Harrassment.

I, too, recently applied for my TX Sales Tax #, and within days I received five calls within as many hours. Two left a message for credit card processing machines. One had the "Press 8 to be removed from this call list," one was disconnected saying hello, the others either left no message or I told them I wasn't interested. I also told them my number was on the Do Not Call List, and he said it was the number registered to a business, as if that negated the DNC list (I don't think it does, does it?). One of the numbers was the 214-848-6988 that DB noted.The others were:

Lied, recorded, repeated from more than one number....therefore scam/spam.

Trying to "give us" a credit card machine - hate telemarketers.  Waste of everyone's time.

Same as DB.... just applied for my Tx sales permit as well. I have now received 2 calls, both numbers from DB's list as well.

Thank you for your post.  I have received calls from two of these numbers this morning. Just received my tax permit renewal in the mail a couple of days ago.

Be ware!  I recently applied for a Texas sales tax permit and before I received the permit in the mail, I have received multiply calls from different phone numbers -
all from Matt trying sell/give credit card machines with a printer ...  here are a few of the numbers --

Agreed Maggie! Have recieved EIGHT , yes 8, phone calls from 8 different bogus numbers, including a blocked one, today and it's only 11 am. Just another PERK of having to pay tax to the government.

Receiving 3 to 4 robocalls per day since registering for Texas sales tax permit. Thanks, Texas gov.

Called saying I qualified for state credit card receipt program (just opened a business). I dentified self as Wayne (Wade?), but left no busness name. Gave return number as 866-867-2188, ext 2222.

Just got a call at work on my cell from this number claiming to be with the police dept.  Thanking me for helping in the past!!  Told him I was at work and he hung up on me!!!!!

Just got a call from them while I was at work... the voice mail message said pretty much the same thing, "you have 24 hours to contact or we will pursue action against you in accordance with the laws in the state, county and city where you live."

Different approach, same ol' crap.

Same message... ill regular activity against your account... blah blah I'm a lying creditor of some sort blah blah if you are stupid enough to call us back we will threaten you and your life.
Screw them I blocked the number!

Number called and left a bogus message. Said the message was meant for someone who I have never heard of. Message said that I needed to return their call because "abnormal activity" on my account (didn't say what kind of account - bank, credit card, etc.) and if I did not call back, they would take legal action according to state and federal law. I do not live in Texas, hold no accounts based in Texas. Nice try!
