I work night turn. They call all day. I am sick of it. I should not have to shut my phone off. I have children that may need to call me. I see it plainly as harassment.

They have some shady practices.... said they work with ConnEd, and want to lower my bill. She said that I did not respond to their letters to reduce my bill.  I asked if they were telemarketing, and she said no.  They are ConnEd.  I asked if they were an ESCO, and she did not know what that was. LOL. I told her to stop using deceptive and fraudulent marketing techniques, I am not interested.  I hung up.

This person keeps on calling even though I am on the do not call list!

I received a call from this no. and the girl said she it was something about electric power but I was distracted by all the noise behind her.  She sounded like she was at a bar and I asked her if she was at a party and the line went dead.

This number shows up on my caller id log often - never leaves a message - in violation of National Do NOT CALL

Got ANOTHER call from them today. Second one in a month. Ayesha said the company name is Public Power and asked to speak to the person who pays the electric bill. Said this was about the notice I should have recieved in my electric bill recently. The caller id said pennsylvania and the number. I told her I am on the national do not call list and asked to be put on the companies do not call list as I am happy with my supplier now. She said she has nothing to do with that. I hung up.

A very unprofessional person called me to tell me about a plan to reduce my electricity bill. He asked to speak to the person in charge of paying the bill. I said that was me and I was happy with my bill as it is. He wanted to get more information so he could tell me how I could save money and I said my bill is very low and I am happy. I gave no information and hung up. After I hung up I realized I never got this months light bill and wonder if that is how they got my information?

I get calls from this # from 2 times a week to 2 times a month.  I say the same thing everytime but it doesn't make any difference.  This is what I say to all strangers who call.

"No one at this home has ever, or will ever talk to strangers on the phone" or a variation - "I'm not allowed to talk to strangers" and I hang up.

But these lists are all pulled electronically from the phone company's records and they are not going to take the time to eliminate your #.

they keep calling me and no one there when i answer.   very annoying!

This person must really want to reduce my electric bill, she has called me 3 times in the past month.  It's getting old.

I got this call today and the person said "I NEED to talk to the person in charge of the electric bill !!  Then went on to tell me about a notice on my bill about a rate reduction and said he had to wait on the line until I would get my bill.  I said "I don't think so" and he said "ok, buddy" and hung up.

The Do Not Call Registry is just another taxpayer funded government program designed to cost at least one order of magnitude more than any value it delivers and give jobs to people who otherwise could never find real work. In the case of this particular government program I would up the one order of magnitude to two orders of magnitude. It is less than useless!

I answered the call and a man asked for the person responsible for paying the electric bill. I said that it was me. Somehow the man was able to locate my full name. Maybe they found it in the local telephone listing. He asked me if I received a notice  with my electric bill about a discount. I played along and said yes and then I hung up before he could go any further.

Several calls a week but they never leave a message. Annoying especially because I'm on the do-not-call registry.

lowering electric bill .. I don't answer call I've got caller ID this has been going on for quite some time. I'd like it to stop. No one should have to put up ever with pests like that. I'm on the do not call list !

Any telemarketing call where they ask for "person in charge of your electric bills" is an outright scam. Here is a simple way to get them to stop calling:

Scam Teleemarketer:  "May I speak to the person in charge of your electric bills?"
Smart Consumer:  "My electric bills? Gee, I don't know. I guess that would be the company that owns my apartment building."
Scam Teleemarketer:  "You don't live in a house?"
Smart Consumer:  "No, I live in an apartment."
Scam Teleemarketer:  "I'm sorry, but this offer does not apply to you. Have a nice day."

*Spam, telemarketer? Maybe. *Idiots? Definitely. Now they have their staff pretending to customers who are outraged at their enormous electric bills. (And we are expected to pick-up the phone to let them know they have the wrong tel#. Yeah, right.)

This is the SECOND call we have received from these people. Their schpeil is that there is some 'widely publicized electric rate reduction' that 'my electric company' is aware of, etc. They also claimed that we should have received, in our electric bill, notification of this rate reduction. When I said we did not receive that, & that I had not heard about it they went into their pitch. Neither time they called could they even name my electric company (in fact they named the wrong company on the 2nd call) nor did either of the callers identify themselves or their company. When they were told that we were uncomfortable with the call, they initially pushed a little, but ultimately just hung up. I really don't know what their agenda is, but i thought they may be looking to 'sell' electrical rate contracts or something. But if that were the case, they would not be a)hanging up on prospective customers, b)they would have our info & freely give their own. Oh, and PS - we're in New York, thank you, plus ALL of our numbers are registered on the National do not call list - to which i have reported these schmucks!

got a call from this number 215 475 8210,person was rude,and asked for person in charged of gas and electric bill,I am on a do not call list and not happy getting these calls,got the same call a week ago and mentioned this what is there problem

Caller wanted to speak to the person in charge of paying electric bills.  I suggested she speak with the authorities to see if what she was doing was legal.  She said, "huh?  oh..... have a nice day"
