I had FCO contact me about a debt that a apartment report and they call me around 9:00. I ask them to vaildated the debt if I owe. I explain to them that the debt wasn t correct due to missing rent fund, unhealth conditions,and securtiy deposited? They didnt call back? I will be suing they landlord for predatory practice and peace and enjoyment.

I keep receiving calls from an unknown caller calling from 240-374-4512,  they never leave a voice message, when I call back, no name just a recording a debt collector, but for whom?

Well Becca, some dirt-bag has tried to resurrect this number. It's not going well for the scrawny fraud. We'll make sure it won't get any better for him.

There are a lot of really scummy people out there. They're not all in India. The stench started in Buffalo. The lingering rot still pervades. The scam doesn't always start with an accent. It began in Erie county. It lingers to this day.

ZMy name and phone number was give to FCO for collection on a apt. bill that apt. owe. I  was one month rent and a bank fruad my    rent i had unhealth condtion and before i know it i was wrongful evited. I was accused of not paying Sept. rent. Then, 1week and 6 days at 8:27p.m. I got a call from FCO debt collector about the apt. They want me to send some money for a debt.

I got a call from this number, trying to collect money from someone that is dead.they are extremely rude and sleazy. They have called several times since. Now I'm  getting out my recording gadget and will start answering .you must tell them that you are recording their call. I f they violate any of the fctpa rules, you can sue them for $1000. Per infraction. Also ask for their address so you can send them a "cease and desist" letter. There is a wealth of information and form letters protecting the consumer from sleaze bags like these people on the internet.

They called saying they wanted to collect a debt

I just got a call from these people randomly so I answered it (not many people call my cell phone so I always answer calls) but they thought I was someone else and kept asking if I knew different people, which I didn't... Then I looked up the number and found this!! How the heck did they get my number??? I'm just a teenage girl, is it bad if they have my number??

We have never broken a lease in our lives, and we are getting calls from them.  Most of these debt collectors are not above breaking the law, using bullying or scare tactics, and harrassment which are not legal per the Fair Debt Collection Act.

This number called at 8:04 this morning and did not leave a message.

Several names have come up when they have called. The most recent being Fair Collection. Laurel and For V Johnson B has also appeared. Like most here, I do not owe anyone any money.

I believe they may represent check n go or Ace cash checking. Both payday loan companies.

I just got a call at 6:30 am this morning from these people.

Please these callers are rude and they call like 6 times on s toe @ 8 am. Ive told them they have the wrong # for months.  Om actually using my daughters old phone but their asking for me but wont verify anything including Lastname

I started to receive phone calls from 1-240-374-5474 on my cell phone, on a regular basis. I found our that it is collection agency, who wanted to get my personal information without explanation why they contacted me at the first place. Since I do not not have any debts, I demanded that they stop calling me, but was told that to do so, I have to provide information about myself. Nice catch 22.

Sounds to me like it's kids prank calling people. I could be wrong, though.

They called me trying to contact a friend with an "important business call," but would only give me some acronym as the name of their company and wouldn't tell me what the company did.

Left no message.  Called back and the "reception" said they they need my name and phone number to look me up then hung up on me after saying they couldn't find me in the system.  I called back again and wouldn't give my SSN to verify identify and they hung up on me.  Then on the 3rd call (pissed by now) I finally got some idtiot to transfer me to some fake named person I assume who after verifying my name and number said they were looking for an Oscar or some other random name but that they would remove my number from their call list.  I made sure the lady read off my number because I felt they would say anything to get me off the phone but she did have the right number and I'm hopeful I don't get any calls back.  Definitely wouldn't give more than a name and phone number to these people they all act as if they're guity of something.

Report to State General Attorney. They broke a law. Collection Agency should call not before 8 am  and no later 9 PM. So They will fine them who call between 9 pm to 8 am.

I got a call from them; they left a message with my name (which is a very common name) and said they were from Fair Collections and Outsourcing. They were calling about a debt. They called around noon on the 4th of July (which is a holiday here). I have no debts.  I will not call them back; the more I get nagged by these people, the more I sympathize with the people who are trying to escape debt collectors.

Just got a call from this number....didn't pick up. Glad I didn't.

No 3rd party collection agency has the right to automatically open an account to your credit history.  They can make inquieries into your report but unless you speak to them directly or give them a dime they can not just open an account on your credit unless you allow them to by offering to pay money.  I just won a $1500 settlement which was 1000 over the original debt for a company doing this.  Before you pay a debt collector demand that they send you proof of your debt.  Once you receive that check your states statute of limitations on the debt you owe.  If the statute of limitation has passed tell them this. They can continue to call however you have no legal obligation to pay beyond that timeframe.  Be aware that if it is an autoloan you will not have to pay it back, but if you ever plan on getting an auto loan in the future you need to settle or you will never be approved without an interest rate of 15-25%.

Apparently my drug addict, incarcerated brother who I have not seen or spoken to in 18 years owes someone money. You mean he is NOT a law abiding bill paying member of society? WOW! Don't know  how they got my name or number and who cares anyway. We don't answer our phone unless we know them and have the time not then either,!  Don't answer the phone.,Eventually they will give up. Last night they called at 11:00,work night, school night etc.We get up at 5:00 am here because we are law abiding bill paying members of society. We might just start disconnecting it at night.

I am getting calls from this company. A man named Larry Osmond calls up to 8 times in one day. At first the number was a different area code. Then it became the 240-374-5400 and several other numbers after the 374 part. They are now calling me with a number that shows up as only 605. I had all of the same issues as you all have. Calling late on a Saturday night, Sundays and so on. They have several ways of using the answering machine. They do not even leave an answer anymore.

I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT FOR HARASSMENT WITH the FTC!
