Yeah i got this call as well.. I live in a small town in texas.. My house is listed on forsalebyowner.com as some have mentioned above. "Joanne" asked me the same questions. I got a call back from her only 2 days later stating that her "Investor" thought it was something he could do and that he would send me an email shortly. I recieved the email with the offers. Same offers. One for the price im asking and then one for 36 months and for more than asking price.(too good to be true?? methinks yes) The "Investors" name was "Eric."

He suggested the whole lease purchase thing to me. Funny thing is, I live in Texas. Thats funny because if he were a real investor he would know that lease purchases are no longer legal in the state of Texas. I was really excited at first about all of this. My wife and i have only been in our house a month and we need to sell our house last month because she has been transferred to another town and starts next month.. Oh well. I think i will pass on this and keep waiting for someone who lives within at least 100 miles to buy it.. Maybe i will actually be able to see them in the flesh

I started getting phone calls from "Joanne", originally the phone number came through as private. I had listed my home on the For Sale By Owner website. Just as others stated, Joanne asked me all kinds of questions about the home and then told me that she had a friend (Eric) who she thought would be interested in my home as an investment. She said she would give them the information and that I would be hearing back from them. Several days passed with no word. Then Joanne called me back to verify my email address because the email her friend had sent was returned to him. After realizing that she had written it down wrong, all was "set"...I would be receiving something from Eric. Several days passed...nothing. Then on Monday morning (this week) I received my offer...along with scripture and the offer to send Bibles to me or my friends:) Same as a couple of others posted as having received...two options, a one year lease with purchase option for basically the price I have it listed for, and one for a 36 month lease with a guaranteed purchase. I checked them out too. Honestly, I just feel something doesn't feel quite right. But for starters...I don't want to do a lease option PERIOD...and if you read about them, their website says that you can continue to market your home...what kind of lease is that?! I am with everyone else though...someone "legit", who has done a successful transaction with them, needs to step up and let us all know the full deal. Oh yeah, turned out that Joanne and her "friend" have the same last name!

Oh, and for the guy asking why the other person posted about "Joseph"...read all the posts, one was from this Joseph...taking up for them. Makes the possibility of a scam even more credible:(

They are a scam. I had a contract with them and they did not pay me.  Stay away from them. I have my local law enforcements working on it.

Pam, I got the phone call & letter of intent also. Have checked with BBB and they have 1 complaint
on them but not sure what it was. I will check with the FTC and see if any thing there.

I got an email with a letter of intent to purchase our home with a lease option today due to a craigslist listing.  This was from a different name/number and I came across these posting when searching to see if they were legitimate.  In their contact, offered for me to call them and there is a web site in the info.  It appears somewhat legitimate, but you have to ask  yourself: In this economy, how many successful investors offer to buy a home for close to the full asking price, especially one priced at the top end of the market, without looking at it?  Be careful
