To get them to stop - their machine is relentless - in California, you can call (951) 734-7463 and ask them to take your number off the list.
I found the number at their main website, in case you're somewhere else: www.fop.net
Go to the Contact Us link, then Lodge Finder. The caller ID on my phone said it was lodge 1. Enter the lodge number - it's a 3 digit number, so 1 = 001 - and the state and it will give you a number to call. Calling the number that called you won't work. Hope this is helpful.

Most of the current contributions are going to Barbara Boxer's re-election campaign.

I just received the call and asked I just continue listening. I let him finish then asked one simple question "what % of the money goes to the organization and what % goes to the officers". He started into his talk again about how it helps the officers and I told him I have two sons who are LEOs and he suddenly said good bye and hung up.

The Caller I.D. Say's: LA FOP LODGE 1 The number is 213-289-5524
I called back and got a Machine saying it is Critical that I support the Police and Help Law Enforcement
I was concerned about this because I am on the DNC Registry and it appears that they can circumvent the DNC List because I assume they say it is a "Non-Profit" or like a Police Agency
They use this to try and "Scare" you...if you do not "Pledge" your support they will "Pay you a visit" like your in trouble if you don't support.
They will put you on a list saying you do not support the "Fallen Heroes" and their Family's
It makes me want to give money so I am on the "Good Guy's" List or get some type of sticker for my car?

213-289-5524 caller ID said LA FOP LODGE 1 8:00PM WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE ALLOWED TO EXIST????
snow 2010-01-20 21:50:11 Unknown
This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the LA County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1. I have called the number. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there?s information on www.cafop.org . Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for LA County police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Numerous call from 213 289-5554, LA FOP LODGE 1. Also Police Expo 213-632-1853 They never leave a message. The one time I did pick up the phone I asked why they kept calling me and they said they must have the wrong number. They asked for me by name too. Would someone please please report them to the LAPD and federal authorities?
JT 2009-12-04 04:53:56 Unknown
Did not answer, and they did not leave a msg.
Now, from what I see here, it looks like a scam.
18667 2009-11-11 04:38:27 Unknown
I picked up because I knew it would be B.S. Loved the "heh, you're not in trouble". I'm thinking in my head, "I know I'm not because I'm LAPD." When he talked about the "under-appreciated officers", I then advised him I completely understood because I am LAPD. He choked on his script and rushed off the phone. I wanted to get him to cut me a check because I felt so sad because I am so under-appreciated. Oh well.
eff the popo 2009-11-11 04:31:17 Unknown
This is not affiliated with the PD. Don't give them money.
Mikael 2009-11-10 22:32:06 Unknown
LA FOP LODGE 1 is a scam. I spoke with them and they hesitated to answer all of my questions and at the end they said they had mistakenly called me. Bologna! Authorities should be notified about this scams. People, do not ever give any information or money to these crooks.

Phone rang at 5:45 p.m. and the caller asked for me by my first name. Said he was "Brian" from the Los Angeles Fraternal Order of Police and "don't worry, heh, you're not in trouble, but let me explain in less than a minute what we're doin'". At that point I hung up on him.
My father in law is retired LAPD. I know this is a scma. Cops do NOT make cold calls asking for money. Ever.
telemarketers-r-scum 2009-10-08 21:44:51 Unknown
Hilarious, the scammers asking people to call THEM.
You clowns keep the lions share of these "donations" the real cops get little or nothing. You are FOR PROFIT GREEDY SOBS and you're a complete EMBARRASSMENT to law enforcement everywhere.
SHAME ON YOU!

Phone ringer and answering machine were off so there was no message, but it was clearly from someone of no interest to me. About time to put these scumbags out of business. Permanently like diseased animals.
cop 2009-08-26 02:52:50 Telemarketer
It's an organization that solicits money but does not provide any money to my local LAPD. They is boiler room operation. I called them back and they had to look up in their script book whether or not they were a 501-C3 for L.A. County. I could hear other telemarketers in the background answering to other (insert the county) fraternal order of police. No legitimate police organization solicits this way. Beware and don't give them a penny.
