This person must be a prankster. please document them

Today (April 6, 2013) this number contacted me.  I had just posted ads on Craigslist as a photographer.  This number contacted me by text message using poorly written English.  They said they saw my ad on "the Craigslist" as a "caterer" and wanted to know if I were available "on June" for a wedding.  Then they asked me to send them my "procedure" and "booking reference, location, and payment option".  Just on the off chance that this was a real and legit contact, I called the number and it went to "Google re-direct" and I was forwarded to a voicemail for someone named differently than the name I was given in the text message!  

TOO MANY RED FLAGS!  I believe this is a RED HOT SCAM!  In my last reply message to them I told them that their number has been reported on the internet as a SCAM and not to contact me again.  That seemed to work as I have not heard from them again.

I have Thomasville furniture on craigslist and someone from this number, wanted the furniture and the price, s/he then sent me this note:

OK.This is to let you know that payment will be by check. So I will need Your Full Name. Your physical mailing address. So as soon as you receive the check, deposit it in your account, and when it clears in your account. I have a shipper that will come and pickup the item in your place. I buy things all over the states and I resell them abroad.

We just posted for an automotive repair business as well. Got a very similar message from the same number.

I have an automotive service ad on craigslist. He texted me asking about a price on a transmission replacement on his car. Shot him a high estimate and he offered to pay right away with a credit card. I think its a scam.
