I got a call from a woman who called me by my first name, I asked her who she was, she asked if this was the April in my city who throws those great Halloween parties every year, I then just hung up.  It was either a sales call or a bill collector, neither of whom I want to speak to.   I've never thrown a halloween party and any one who knows me would know that I don't go by April.

I've heard that these so called "Home Design Center" phone numbers are infact more of a telephone database accuracy checker of some sorts, and other institutions (including actual businesses) use their services by getting them to call and verify whether or not the number is infact associated with the person that they are seeking. Anyone know if there is any credence to this rumor?

Received a call from this 323-450-1197. I don't take call from telemarketers and I report them to donotcall.gov since I'm on the do not call list.

We received a message from this number on our home voicemail this morning. "Good morning, my name is Howie (or Cowie) from the Design Center .....(pause).....How are you?"

We are also on a no call list.

I got a call from the 323 number but when I picked up the phone, there was no one on the other end. So I call the number back and a message said it was no longer in service.  (Odd). I called the 800 number listed above on this page.  The woman who answered was very polite (as was I).  I asked her if the 323 number was associated with the Home Design Center (HDC).  She explained that the HDC has many numbers and that she didn't know them all by heart.  I explained that I was on the no-call list and was surprised to get a phone call from a business.  She offered to take down my number and check to see if it was in their system and, if it was, she'd remove it.  She even apologized for any inconvenience.  Hopefully, that will be the end of that.

Seeing all the coments and given the fact that my number is on the national do not call registry I will report them right now.

I did a reverse phone lookup and the name is Jose Rodriguez. I also did a background check and he has multiple offenses on record.

Yes it took me hours to go through years of phone records on my Palm Treo phone.  But will come in handy in court or to the police when I get that far.

We need people to report these numbers and not just ignore them. If we ignore them, then we are leaving the uneducated or uninformed to be succeptable to these scammers! Please report these and ALL scam calls when you can! If everyone did it, most of these dirt bags would get caught and it might stop more from trying it.

They called me in the past about once per week. Then I threatened to sue them for harassment. The calls stopped until yesterday. I asked for their business license number and the guy said,"i cant give that to you". then hung up. when I called back, the number was not in service.
They are the Home Design center and want to do remodeling in the home.

If anyone has more information on this, please let me know. I am going to close them down as soon as I get the needed information I need. They have really ticked me off!

They called my cell.  I did not answer.  My caller ID on the cell said it was Irvine CA, but that is odd since I think Irvine is area code 714.

hang ups and not in service when i called

Caller ID states "CALIFORNIA."  The individual asked for me by last name, then by first name.  When I said this was he, they hung up on me.  I called the number right back, but a recording states the number is not in service.

They call and hang up if my spouse does not answer the phone.
