This person also contacted me.  An oceanographer, out at sea.  $50 to hold my item.  Thank God this sounded fishy with all of this check sending, sight unseen, I'll send my movers stuff.  I never sent him/her my name or address.  I replied back that I would prefer to do a cash deal with the seller face-to-face.  Not sure how he/her will respond yet.  This just happened about 40 minutes ago.  Thanks so much to all that left these reports!!!!!

Exact same thing here.  Oceanographer and wants to give me a check for over the amount and said he'd pay an additional $50 for me to take it off of craigslist to hold it.  I think it's the same scammer working with as Kelvin Marlone of Hollywood FL 321-328-7716 who says he works in a lab all day AS WELL as a financial planner by the name of Lawrence in the State of Georgia which was the turnaround address from where the first check was sent.  Time for the Attorney General's office; but WHICH State Attorney General?
