I get tons of calls from from 347 area code at all hours.  Latest one for me was 347-304-8435...... Tonight I finally installed an app called Call Control and have ended up blocking the whole 347 area code.  I am sure there are other apps that do the same thing, and just as well.  You might say "what if I get a real call from that area code?"  You can set it so that your phone does ring for all blocked numbers or complete area codes and any call will go to your voicemail without the phone ringing.  I guarantee you that this has something to do with the cell carriers selling our numbers.  I was with Verizon.. and as it turns out they are one of the worst for selling your info.  Along with AT&T.... I called them and of course they denied it.  But I am going to cancel with them, and go with one of the pay as you go plans... cheaper, less money... just as good service and from what I understand, they dont sell your info.  That is a no brainer for me.  And I found out that you dont even have to put your name on the account.
