Received a call from Carl White, needing to talk to an employee...said he is from the Federal Legislation Legal Dept, but can't speak good enough English to ask any questions to.

this guy keeps calling me leaving diffrent names james franklin, jake tyler, stated that it was in my best regards not to disregard the call because it was a serious legal matter, never said what company he was from the first time he sounded drunk the others times it was clear but didnt speak english very well.  At end of each call he says he wished me good luck and a safe life. I tried to call back several times and they pickup and hang up. Finally got in touch with them, ask who they were and stated he was a human and went from there to cussing me out.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I just got the same call, but they said it was my husband that had the charges! I said ok then if we owe money our bankruptcy attorney will handle it. He said no you will or you will go to jail. I said for 1, I am not my husband and any law firm would not speak to me without my husbands concent, 2 when I ask for them to tell with who we comitted fraud too he starts getting upset and hangs up! so everytime he calls I answers saying keep calling my line is being watched already by the FBI and the BBB.

Just happened to me, I told him I have no record and I will hve my attorney (who happens to be my nephew) call him to discuss. I told him if I have anything posted against me send it in writing. He hung up.
This person needs to be arrested and I am contacting my attorney who is an attorney. i would advise you all do the same.

I recieved a call from the 347 674 1362 they left a voice mail telling me to call back today or charges was going to be filed against me for fraud. I called the number back and as my number is blocked by my carrier they would not talk to me but I hit *69 and the number they called me from was the 347 719 1465 and he asked for the name of my attorney. I asked what for and he told me federal charges was filed against me and I told him to explain it to me for what reason. He told me to wait til the papers come. And I told him good then I will know who to charge for harassing phone calls

Received a call from them today at my office. Same story - we have a criminal case in our office - supposedly attorney Adam Garcia. Told him I would be happy to have my legal team review whatever paperwork he could provide. The "attorney" told me to f*** off and hung up. There is no way this is legitimate. getting them to stop calling is another thing, but I like the suggestion to tell them the FBI is tracing your calls. That should put an end to it.

How do you get them to stop calling you? I received a phone call at work when I asked to speak to a supervisor they gave me the phone number for Adam Garcia. I called him he asked for the name of my criminal lawyer to which I replied I know this is a scam and he hung up the phone on me. Five minutes later the indian man called back! WTF, how do I get them to stop!?

Sam problem as most of you at first I was worried cause they kept saying they were suing me but the call got very heated then he was mocking and making fun of me and saying things NO ONE would ever say if they were a law firm don't give them anything this all started after I applied for a loan online and they give out your info to everyone these are SICK people

Quite true. I can't see why the scammers would think anyone might believe it but obviously some people do.

I received a message from 632-255-2664 stating that they have a legal case against me and I need to call the Attorney name Adam Garcia at 347-674-1362. A hour later I receive another call from the same 347-719-1465 number, the woman I spoke with did not give any more information other than advising me to call the attorney or have my attorney call the 347 number. When I called the number no one answered it went to voice mail. I didn't leave a message. I just hung up. These calls took place on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 between 0830 - 0930hrs.

Some abudabe called that couldn't speak proper English telling me I had a criminal case against me and I needed to verify my last four of social.

Same thing happened to me the guys name was Chris Taylor I called and he said his name was Adam Garcia attorney this guy is a joke. I called and then he kept calling me harassing me. Don't fall for this its a scam.

some man, called himself robert taylor fr th federal legislation legal dept. left threatnn message on my phonesaid if he didnt hear fr me or my atterny immediatly, regaurding funds to capitol bank that legal enforcements would b forced upon me. then he went on to say goodluck to me if i didnt contact him.n a threatn sarcasim matter. he didnt speak good english,he  talked slow, and paused for every other word, like he was reading or someone telln him what to say. ir was loud and noisy n th background. i never called him back.

I received a call from (347)674-1362 and talk to a guy named David Peterson who claimed to be an attorney and had a very heavy indian accent. He told me I have 3 criminal charges against me and that if I did not give him $785.00 they would forward the case to my local police department and they would arrest me for 90 days which I wont be able to place bail until after 90 days and they would send a termination letter to my employment. I'm taking the information he gave me and reporting him to my local sheriff office.

from phone number 347-719-1465 and 247-674-1362 and 251-706-8897 the caller name was carl with very Indian  accent. I had 3 law suit's against me under my name and social security and that they where going to report this to my local police dept. I have to hire attorney  to pay them $596 . Finally I reported that to the police and I was told they are doing from foreign country. Watch out these INDIAN scammers.

i got a call from them yesterday, the callers name was shane watson who asked for my criminal lawyers name and address, when i asked for someone who spoke english if they are going to threaten me, he told me that he would see me behind bars. it is a scam, i do not have three criminal cases.

I receive a phone call saying that i have 3 criminal cases against me. That will be put in jail for 90 days and i would lose my job and my bank account. I wouldnt be able to work for 3 years. If I didnt give them 100.00 today. They would report it to my local police department. The guy name is Adam garcia from new york. They said my debt charges are 400.00.

Got a Phone Call From this number and I was told that I had 3 law suit's against me under my name and social security and that they where going to report this to my local police dept. And in 90 day's if I Haven't taking care of my debt,(Which i have none), That I  would be put in jail, fired from my job and not able to get a job for the next 3 year's if i did not pay 236.00 dollar's.

Willow is right!  These extortion scams are all over in different threads here. They are breaking so many of the fdcpa laws..

Rest easily. If you were going to be arrested, you would not be notified over the phone. The police would simply show up . Also, the judge would decide the sentence at your hearing.

This same place just called me and told me I was being sued for fraud. 1... never been notified of being sued... 2 never committed fraud in my life. Needless to say they told me I was going to be picked up by the county and sentenced to 3 months in jail. Now I am in an uproar because even though I want this to not be happening to me on my birthday, I am very confused whether or not to believe what was said. I also too talked to "adam garcia's" co-worker. Anyone know anything about this number?

I think this one is legitimate, since he/she states they are going to further investigate their legal rights on this. It doesn't ring as a shill.

Good Afternoon, I have been receiving this call since Saturday, stating that I have criminal case in their office and I need to contact Attorney Adam Garcia at 347 719 1465 to prevent further action.  I return the call, but no response.  I am going to investigate further on legal right on this matter.  I am a child of the most high God, and I will not be place under this type of attack from anyone miss using me in this way. Amen and God those who will follow your heart in saving your name.

I also received a call from these people (who can barley speak english). When I ask them for the which "Federal Agency" they worked and the name of their director the gentlemen hung up. So I called them back and asked again the same question, this time another gentlemen stated that for $100 they could release that information. At this time I let them know that I am a Federal employee and that they are required to state their Agency and directors name, with office contact information. They hung up on me again. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THESE GUYS.

I received a message on Wednesday Aug. 21 that I had to call a guy named Chris Taylor whom works for Federal Legal Legislation Dept. told me that he had 3 to 4 judgements against me.  I asked him with who and he told me that he needed $468.00 dollars or they were taking action against me.  It made me scared and I paid the money but I am now finding out that it is a scam.  After I talked to Chris he transfered me to his manager named Kevin.  After I realized what had happened to me I called back and a guy named Adam Garcia said he was an attorney and he emailed me some papers, but no where on the paper does it claim who the money was paid to.  Whatever you do don't get scammed like I did don't send them a dime.

Calls and states his name is "Carl White" but speaks no English. When I call the number back, to tell then to stop calling at my job and cell phone, I was told to sto BSing them.
