I just called them back and spoke with the so called INVESTIGATOR..

Before we went into detail, I told her that I was required to inform her that the call was being monitored and recorded and that anything she says can and will be used against herself and the company in which she is representing.  Also that I will be reporting them to the FBI FTC FCC and State Attorney General.  She hung up immediately.
 I called back, she answered and said that she was CALLING THE SHOTS not me.  I said ok, and repeated what I first stated about the recording.
 She hung up again.
 The next time I called I got the voicemail for a Zenith financial.  I repeated the above on the voicemail and told them to call my cell, with all the following information:
Name of the calling person and company they are representing
Employee id number and title.
Any personal information they have about me and original documentation for them to fax to me.
If they did not have the full information then they should not call me again.

Seems like it worked.

I agree they are scammers. I also called and alerted state police and MI State Attyr general office both said same thing a scam dont give them any money. We too never answer their calls, I also have 404-973-2104 as couple but are many. And yes "agent my butt" give me a break. Calls periodically since July, saved each one.

Received call from phone number 404-935-9447 stating I was being investigated for check fraud- I don't even have checking account. The person calling me is Ms Afary

I had a voice mail today from them stating that I had 24 hours to call or have my lawyer call because I was being investigated for check fraud.  I rarely use checks and they are never returned so that is odd to begin with. After reading the posts here I believe they have this number from a family members 'cash net' experience. That case was taken to court because of the insane and violent harassment and we won! The balance was to be removed AND they paid us and the legal fees several hundred dollars. Contacting us on that account is contempt of court and they could be forced to pay even more money.  I highly recommend getting a lawyer and keep the recordings as evidence.  Report them to a good attorney - we found ours on a site like this one - and let them take these guys by the balls. It's kinda fun.

They call our house phone and then our cell phone. Leaves a message to call an agent within 24 hours. Going to report them to the Do Not Call Registry!!

just file a complaint with the attorney general an federal trade commission an report them to the FBI.

What you do is keep adding every number they call you from to a NO NO contact and make sure that contact is checked as goes straight to voicemail.  You phone will never ring, and if you have visual voicemail when you see this number just delete it without listening to it.  Don't let these scammers upset you.  If they can't get in contact with you they will quit calling.

They just called me today for the first time saying the same thing! When I pressed the #1 button to tell them they have the wrong person, all that was there was silence and then it hung up on me! Before I had hit the #1 button I listened to the rest of the message. It said that if it had gotten voice mail that I had 24 hours to reply.

Don't agree with them, don't send them money simply report them to the FTC, BBB and Georgia authorities.

This is the message I got-"Yeah case is pending here in the office of D. T. A Space document has been approved to close your file. Please Press 1 speak with the Settlement Agent in charge of your case." refused to call back and will be reporting them. I also checked with my bank due to some legitimage fraud on my account - several people in my city were scammed and they know nothing.

I received a call today from 4049916869. they first call my saying that I commited fraud with some checks back in 2007, they told mu little sister that I was goign to jail, poor girl was crying like crazy, then they call my father's cell phone and told him, that they were coming from me.  That i owe 400 dollars and now is up to $1000.00, if settlemet was not reach today, the prosecutor will transfer the case to the local county. When we ask for any info they did not provided any information. this people have a large data base where tjey can find all of your information, they knew my parents names, etc. Please be careful with this stupid people who doesnt have anything better to do.

I recaived the same call today earlier this year i was hit by diversified managament and common wealth all from who this anothony lapino is claiming to be. They threatend to take me to court on check fraud and would settle ouot for $2345.16. when i told them i wanted a phone address email. mailing and fax for my lawyer to contact them before anything they said "You have to call Back". I did still would not give me a mailing address.

This number 404-946-4035, must be new otherwise there'd probably be a lot more posts. BTW, these people are crooks. They've been trying to get hold of me for 2 months now on an account I paid to NCO back in December. They are also not licensed to collect in my state so they pretty much can't do anything to me which is why they keep calling and threatening action but do nothing about it for two months. Every time they call it's "return this call before 5pm today". Today it was 12 noon they wanted a return call by. Idiots! Soooo sick of hearing "Agent Taft's" whiny foreign voice. You would think they'd get the picture after no return call for two months straight! Also, I would suggest that you never answer the phone because that is probably why they call incessantly. They have called several times claiming check fraud. If these people had a life they woud not call. It's hard to believe that these people get paid for this.My Legal Team said bring it on.

Calls started today, saying they have reached settlement in our check fraud case----I didn't pick up--that is the message on my answering machine.  Caller ID said it was "Georgia"/ 404-946-4035

Call asked me to push #1 if account has been settled.  No idea as to what account or the difficulty. Too many of these for it to be an accident.

They've been calling me from different numbers from Atlanta Georgia. The messages are either automated or cut off so I cannot understand them. Something about calling a settlement agent o settle my account? I have no idea what this is regarding.
