Continuously calls and leaves no message.

Caller clamed to be Jerry Stevens and was in Altamonte Springs FL needing help to get back to Glencoe MN. I tryed to return the call but just got voice mail. no ID on the message on the VM

Same thing happened to me.  Except he gave a name Jerry Stevens.  Same wife and daughter name and same sob story about his mother being killed by a drunk driver in Florida and his car through a rod and was trashed in Altamonte Springs, FL.  He said he had been to my church in Brooklyn Park, MD.  How can people live like this. he wanted me to money gram him the money for tickets for his wife Christine and daughter Jessica. Can't the authorities catch this guy. Who should I report this to??

He just tried the same thing with me in Laramie WY.  Mother died, he lives here in Laramie, bus tickets, same names, etc... God bless all of you who preach the word and stand on truth.

Well, i am in a small town in Iowa, and today i got a call with the same story, exatcly except the man's name and wife's name was different.  The little girl's name was still Jessica.  He even asked me to say a prayer over the phone for him and his family.  The trouble was that I just didnt remember him and his family coming to church and he actually said that he lived in our town.  Well, there was nothing in the phone book or on the computer with that name in our town.  Then i thought i would run the phone number and saw that it was a private cell number.  I did call the Orlando Police and they are swamped but said they may pass it to someone or the sheriff's office.  Anyway we are going to have a chat about what sermon i preached on the sunday he was here...lol..or he might get another one..Anyway thank you for posting your experience Pastor Carl.  The Lord Bless you and keep preaching the the Word in Love and Truth

Same story with me on Saturday.  He actually did attend our church in Minnesota just before Easter...

I received a call from this number, on the parsonage phone line at 11:15 on a Thursday night. The caller identified himself as Scott Korhen. He stated that he had visited my church in Flint, MI around Easter. He told me that his mother had died in an accident involving a drunk driver in Florida. He said that he was traveling with his wife Christine and daughter Jessica.  They had finished final business for his mother, Marianne and were trying to make the return trip to Flint. Their car broke down around Altamonte Springs, Florida.  He said that he had money and a voucher for one bus fare, but needed money to get tickets for his wife and daughter.  He wanted me to Western Union him money to buy those tickets. I smelled a rat right off the bat and asked him for more details of his mother's name, the kind of car that brokedown and what the problem was that sent it to the junkyard.
I told him that I could not send money that night, but that I would do some checking and contact them on Friday. I searched for an obituary with the name Korhen and it brought me to a report on a different 407-625-#### Orlando cell phone number with repeated reports from pastors with similar stories.  This man is a fraud and a scam artist. If you hear from him, do not provide any cash assistance.
