callled me on cell, sounded like a fax number 408 317 0155

Recieved many calls from Credit Card Services on my cell phone, pressed one and told them they need to remove this number and that I was on the DO NOT CALL LIST. We'll see if that works.

received a recorded call on my cell phone with the same message, i.e., "special offer to reduce your rate to 6.8%" etc. But I don't have my cell number associated with any credit cards or other loans. I recently was able to remove my number from a harassing robo-call collection agency that had me falsely in its database; and now this call comes. I suspect it is a scam to get information.

That should have read, "...to try and get past the new rules..."

Got the call at about 8pm, its a recording from someone named Rachael.

The message is roughly this... "Hi this is Rachael, and I'm calling from Card Holder Services, an for a limited time we are offering you a lower interest rate on your credit cards." press 1 for a customer service operator, or press 3 to no longer receive these calls.

Sure enough press 3 and you get to listen to the lovely message again. Does not take you off the list, they probably did that to try an pass the new rules about opting out on robot-calls.

I have received calls before with the exact same message, but they normally come from calls that the numbers are being masked. Usually they are Florida numbers, for example 305-000-1234 or 417-000-1243 type of format. A bit of research on the numbers that I have gotten all trace back to the same company, who also has offices in California and Florida. They are under investigation, and I was unable to get there name :-(
