I live in Arizona.  My wife and I have received multiple phone calls from telemarketers stating our auto warranty is expired and that we can purchase new warranties for our vehicles.  Our vehicles are paid off and 8 and 9 years old, OF COURSE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED.  In today's conversation I spoke with "Ralph" and asked him how he thought it would be possible to place a warranty on a vehicle this old.  Like the droid he is, he just kept asking me for specifics about my vehicle.  I began to ask him to take my name off his list and he kept interrupting me, the fourth time saying "we will not take your name off the list.  We will keep calling you."  When I tried to speak again he said, "How do you pronounce your last name?" (My last name bears a resemblence to an unfortunate 4-letter word) and then when I was silent (more awestruck that any company would have the audacity to allow this behavior to occur with their employees) he said, "Yeah, I thought so," and then disconnected the call.

Call started with a recorded message from some warranty company.Then a person asked for the make and model. I replied "no".She hung-up on me.I called the number back and got another recording.the recording said to press "1" to be removed from their list.

California Call. No message. Calls daily.

Rediculous & Annoying! NEVER push a button, just hang up! Just like the warranty calls (I've never owned a car with a warranty so I knew those were bogus.) I've heard IF you push a button you cant be sure what you might be agreeing to, they may open some "account" & charge you, so NEVER push a button. The "cruise" calls started today now. If I hear a recording, I hang up.

I have had so many annoying calls I have just learned to check the caller ID and listen to any message they leave.  Remember the phone belongs to you for your use.  If you don't feel like answering it don't. Just let it ring and go to answering.  You can set the answer maching to pick up on say the third ring.

Well, I sure hope they have the audacity to charge me, so I can find out exactly what the hell company this is and take them to the BBB!

Got a call from this number it came up on the caller id as a cellular call. I don't answer out of state calls so I came to check the number on google and found this.

I think this and several other of these phone numbers are some kind of trace number.. Were any of you on twtitter, google, other sites commenting?   I have never gotten these strange numbers until lately.. I have had several .. They seem to happen when I am commenting on twitter or other sites about topics relating to govt or other major corporate type business... They will stop for a few days.   I will reset my IP address, within a couple of hours the call and hang up again.. Ive done it over a dozen times this week and this month..  If my machine or I answer, it will stop.. If I reset my IP they will start again.. I may be paranoid.. But this sounds a little more than coincidental to me..

I had to laugh at the caller ID message I got when this number called me:

This number has been calling since Sept. and no one answers when I pick up. I live in Louisiana and has some family out in CA and no one knows this number.

the number came up on oct.16th 2008 as TN REMOVAL LIST (408)587-2148. i didnt answer. i get calls 24 hours a day. even if i change my number. they still know my name,. so it has to be the phone company selling the info

I have received calls from this number many times before, and I don't like to respond to calls that are out of the area I live in Miami,FL due to annoying advertising and I see that I am not the only one can anybody help how to stop getting this interrupted calls?

This is the type of call that I believe to be the most dangerous and most fraudulent.  Caller ID says "CARD SERVICE"  but the script read by the computer is actually about a 'car warranty' that is about to expire.  The word URGENT is sprinkled throughout the text to, I believe, cause a scare to go through the person called and allow the scam artists to catch you off guard.  I waited until a person came on the line and her first words were "make, model, year of your car"...I asked her which car.  She said I "should have gotten something in the mail" but she was sure it was the most recent car we had bought.  I told her "it must be the jaguar, then"...she paused...asked me what year it was and I said 2008 and surely the warranty wasn't out yet.  of course all I heard was *click*  They are a cowardly lot.

yep..Card Services is correct...I keep a log of all my annoying telemarketers and i have this number down twice so far - 6-27-08 @ 3:49pm and 7-14-08 @ 1:28 pm.

I have multiple "Card Services" numbers but thos one only twice..and both times I pressed two to be taken off the list.

What I think is going on is these numbers get passed around to all different companies, so when you press 2 to be taken off the list your getting taken off that phone numbers list for that particular company....then 3 weeks later the number is now with a new company and your not on their do not call list yet, so the number can be used again.

its totally f'n annoying and im trying tot hink of a way to make it stop or get back at them because this is 100% harrassment!

Yeah, don't answer these calls and if you do don't press any buttons at all. Just hang up on them.

I am baffled by all the different postings above for this one phone number. They range from caller id,and caller, but all say some type of telemarketing.  The call I got, my caller id stated this phone number is a "cell phone".  The area code (408) is from California--so it could not have "Wisconsin call" as Lewy states above.  Very confused and annoyed.

Received call from this number from First Class Vacations saying they are number one seller of cruises for Carnival and Royal Caribbean.

Received call from this number today. Like so many others. It's good to be wanted, I'm so lonely. I'm a 94 yo great great grandmother actively seeking many telemarketer calls for intimate conversations. Have retractable dentures and many aids, hearing, walking, reading, etc. Smooth and athletic, practice falling regularly. Into kinky bathroom positions. Call today.

I recieve calls from this number 3 or 4 times a day nobody is there and when I answer they just hang up this is quite annoying also this is my cell phone and primary number and I have it registered on the Do not Call list yet they still keep calling why isn't anything being done?

3 calls were received in the last hour and they are all hangups.  I guess they hear the initial company greeting and hang up.  Annoying!
