Repeated calls from this number which display "AT&T". Last call received at 1402 PDT, March 21, 2012. Some checking once found this is a telemarketer representing the "San Jose Fire Association or Burn Unit", usually trying to sell tickets to a benefit basketball game.

Have been getting calls multiple times a week for at least two months. ATT on the caller ID and *69 gives you the #408-865-9464. After them hanging up on me every time I answer, I decided to call back. If you call that number, you will get another recording, you can leave them a message, I did today. Hopefully they take you off the list after leaving them a message. I called AT&T who is not affiliated and is basically clueless to it. After looking on the internet and seeing they affiliated themselves with the sheriffs, I wanted to see if the sheriff's office has any knowledge of it. Both AT&T and the Sheriff's Dept. took my info and said they would investigate .....

This is the email reply from the Santa Clara Seriff Department:

"For future reference, you can always ask for the persons name and rank
within the department, letting them know that you will be verifying their
employment with us."

Caller id show as ATT
a male claimed to be " Santa Clara Sherriff Department".
I was cooking dinner. and pass it on to my hubby.
My hubby said he called yesterday and the anwser is no.
The more I think about it. the more I do not believe it's from Santa Clara Sherriff Department.
Even if it's some kind of fund raising. Doesn't sounds legitimate.
So I call to local police station. they closed now.
I will call again and investigate.

btw. this call right after a private email discussion about a possible small donation for an abandon baby in Far East.  very fishy

Automated response on the other end about sorry they cannot speak with me right now due to technical difficulties, then hangs up.  Calls several times a day.

Does not leave a name, does not say a word, been getting phone calls from this number.  I am reporting it.

Harrassing phone calls.

We average about 4 calls per month from this number - annoying - never leaves any message.

They call repeatedly and leave "technical difficulties on our end" message.
So no info whatsoever, and cannot return call.

They were on my block list months ago.
So many of these unsolicited calls that I need to clear space on my 20 entry block list.
Now I've added them again.

caller id says it from at&t......always leaves a message saying Were Sorry........have not called back.....

I was getting the call from this number for last few days with an automated message.. Today someone talked to me and offered ticket for a family event for $40. He said its a fund raiser for the family of officers.

Not only was there no message, there was not even a robo caller when I picked up.  Complete waste of time.

Caller ID now says "ATT". Same crap - telemarketing. Cannot remove with "do not call list"

Got the same thing today filed a complaint with the FTC I was not home but the number was on caller I'd as AT&T I called and got a sorry message that they were selling tickets to an event

The caller ID has changed to "ATT"...I have submitted a complaint to the FCC.

Got a call for this number three times already! I answered and it was a man asking if I was ms. [my last name] And I said "Why who is this??" And they said "This is The sunnyvale Sherrifs department I am deputy [something lol] And then I said "okay..." And they were like " We need you to take a survey. Is your mom or dad there?" I said "No." So they said "okay we will call later." SO ANNOYING. They call so much and I have a feeling they only say they are a sheriff deputy so that you will be scared of hanging up on them. Lol they are just scammers. Trust me.

Somebody calls from this number every day for few weeks already. The caller ID displays that this is AT&T. Pre-recorded message says: "due to the technical difficulties we are unable to speak to you personally" and then they hang up.

I called AT&T today. Their hold time is absolutely horrible, I waited for 15 minutes, hanged up, then called again, waited for another 15 minutes until finally someone was available. I told to stop harassing me. He said that he never heard about this and transfered me to their tech support where the message warned me that I have to wait another 15 minutes.

I was so angry! I think they are doing it on purpose. I filed a complaint with FCC.

identify themselves as ATT.  Call at the same time every night:  due to technical problems we cannot talk to you... hello .. you called me.  What type of scam is this?

they call every night around 6 p.m.  I don't answer cause I have caller ID.  Last night they didn't speak but there was a lot of Heavy breathing.

Robodials daily for the past week. Caller id is "ATT". Always get the "Due to a technical error on our end".

When I call the number back it's a recording with a very sincere female voice giving the pitch described above: "Good evening, please accept our apologies for missing you on our recent phone call to your home. The call was regarding a special sales offer. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience our call may have caused. We are currently using the telephone to contact residents throughout the community and we are offering a special family ticket to one of our benefit shows sponsored by one of our many non-profit clients. Tickets sell for $40 each and admit the entire family. Our clients are exempt from the national do not call list, however if you wish to be in our in-house do not call list, you may do so now. After the tone please clearly speak your name and telephone number, including your area code. Please allow us 72 hours to process your phone number. Thank you and have a nice day."

Got a call says AT&T  on caller ID leaves no message and says nothing.

No message, repeated calls and no message.  Annoying.

for the past 3 nights this call comes in.  ID shows as 1-408-865-9464 ATT.  Makes you think it is AT&T - NOT!   Why can't this so and so's be stopped???  I'm sick and tired of it!  If you don't answer, they leave a message such as ...."we wanted to talk to you in person, sorry for this inconvenience"  or something like that.  I actually called the number back and there was a message saying something about their call and they wanted to talk in person.  I hung up.

Calls with hangup on my Comcast IP Phone #. No message. I screen all calls and know numbers who call me regularly. If you don't know me don't call. If you don't know me and need to call then leave a message with a callback number. My Ringer is never on because of s**** like this.

Got 2 calls on my magicJack line and they went to voice mail.  No message was ever left.  Searched the caller's number and found this page.  Looks like a telemarketer and so hope there will be no more calls.
