I live in the Boston area & received 2 calls today (5/14/14) from 411-000-0000 saying
"lockdown is over and suspects have been caught."

1. The phone# doesn't look legit with all those 0's

2. Don't know anyone in Florida or have children in school or that area.

Has to be a scam  .... BEWARE!

I received a call from that number on my cell then immediately at work. It was my daughter's school telling me that school would be closed early due to the impending snow.  

If its an emergency number for schools Then they need to update their data base. Got No Children. Any number that has 000-0000. I JUST BLOCK!!!

I just punched in my number (just to test it,) and now I'm getting calls through the roof from AlertNow. I don't know what to do.

Our local school district called everyone at 5:56am in the morning to say no school due to weather, was an incoming 411 call (per caller ID), but Cox has mistaken it for a 411 outgoing call and billed us (and probably all district parents on their call list) $1.99 for directory assistance.  Boy will this take awhile to get straight.

Its some type of school alert or county alert....whenever I get this call its my kids school letting me know schoolbis canceled or letting out early. Always important update ....u should answer it.

got a call from "unavailable" 411 000 0000.  left an automated msg saying they were a message ctr and no need to call back.
Have no clue what it was about and have never had a call from a number like that.

i got a call from 411 000 0000 i did not answer it i do not know who it was from i have never seen that number before whoever it was i missed the the call a toll call

I receive four phone calls from 411-000-0000 today.  I do not have an answering machine.  Needless to say just a few minutes after receiving another phone call from this number two police cruisers showed up at my door saying that a 911 call alerted them to the residence. Since I was the only one home and the dog doesn't know how to use the phone yet I am concerned that this phone number/alert system may used by more than one agency to send out broadcast calls. Would love to hear others thoughts or experiences about this number.  :)

I    receive a call from this number every morning at about 9 a.m. It's seems tobe public service call about hurricane Sandy.  I live in South Florida.

I has been over 12 years since any children have gone to school from my address! This system was not being used back then. Why are they calling me and bothering me now. This system would be wonderful if the local school district would update their records yearly instead of never.

It is a school alert service for parents, students, and other relatives.  Many public school systems subscribe to this in order to send 'no school' alerts and other important messages.

The service should use the name of the local school district they are calling for in the Caller ID!  Your local school system should demand that the service include a real name in the Caller ID.  Demand that your school system insist upon a name in CID.

411-000-0000  This is a legitimate messaging system probably through the police. At 8:25pm tonite I got a call from that number and it was a message from the familiar voice of my school district spokesman, regarding the closing tomorrow due to hurricane Sandy.

You may be listed as one of the emergency contacts for someone that does have kids.

i didnt answer i didnt know what it was, i know that i had to tell my mom to get my little brother from school.  THANK GOD IT WASNT SOMEONE WEIRD PERSON CALLING!!

I also received 2 calls this afternoon from 411-000-0000.  When I listened to the message it came from Marion Co., FL Public School system to alert parents & emergency contacts of inclement weather causing a delay in bus service to school children.

Don't you think the School Board would have alerted the parents & emergency contact persons of this number prior to the beginning of school, so when the call came in we would know who it was who was calling?

This is as stated before, the method used by local schools to mass message parents about important information.  This is used in Kentucky by the Warren County School system

I got a call from this number, it was the school system notifying us that the children would be late coming home because of a tornado warning.

Please remove my phone number from this list. It is a call about school closings.

Caller ID said SW Emergncy call and the number was 1-411-000-0000...the woman sounded like she was speaking with an Asian accent and claimed to be calling from something like EducateU

I just got the same call.  I have been receiving automated calls from this same school district (from a regular number) for about a month and I also have no children.  The school district is in another state.  I called back the other number and got a hold of someone and they said "let me guess, you want to be taken off out call list."  I guess somehow they have a lot of numbers on their list that are incorrect.
