We just posted our car last night and this guy has already texted us several times wanting to have someone come pick up the car for the price we are asking.  We did try to speak to this guy on the phone - but the signal was so bad we could hardly hear him.....but couldn't help notice the foreign accent.  I have looked up the number on several websites and it says it's based in Pennsylvania. He hung up and sent a text right away, "texting is better, send me your information now so we can proceed with the check". He was texting every 30 seconds....then I found this website with the comments.  We sent him a text saying "sounds like a scam if you don't want to look at the car or test drive it"......haven't heard back from him since!

I'm so glad I found this website with all of your comments on this phone number!  Definitely sounds like a scam.

Ive had this very same number text me about a car on craigslist i was selling everything seemed legit until i said something about it being a scam and that i would proceed to take legal actions if need and i simply got no response after that i advise anybody selling anything if its not local dont answer the out of area phone call

We just got some texts from this number. It seemed weird to me that he was wanting to pay my asking price then asking me if we were ok with the price and condition of our lift chair. I decided to Google it and found all this out. I'm not giving him our information.

Text me on a washer/dryer on Colorado Craigs list.Said price was fine. He said delivery co.would pick up just need routing # & acct# for your bank to wire funds. I knew then, looked up his phone # on internet.Its out of Pennsylvania. He could buy used wa/dr in Pennsylvania.I text him back to F off . No more text from him yet.

Yup! It's a scam. 800 notes is full of "Craigslist scam" postings. The basic idea is you get a check. It will be for more than the selling price. You will be asked to forward the difference, by wire transfer (CASH) to their "Shipping Agent". I'm sure you already know that the check is a fake. Remember that it can take up to 2 weeks, or more for your bank to tell you a check is no good. Give them the address of your local police station. Next ad you put in Craigslist, just put "No text messages, by phone, & in person only"

I have posted a vehicle for sale on craigslist.  About two minutes later I received  a text stating, "Sounds good price agreed for ($my asking price.) You do not have to bother yourself about the pick up. I'll instruct a Shipping Agent to come for pickup at your door, when you must have gotten your cash at hand.  I will be paying through check and I'm in no rush with you till fund's are cleared in your bank.  Kindly text me your information stated below: Full Name: and Home Address."

I posted the vehicle at a best offer price  which is a reasonable asking price. I feel this is a possible scam because they didn't ask for specific details a normal buyer would normally be concerned about. Another concern is they are asking for your full name and address to provide a check to you.
