That Ben guy called me also. From Vehicle research with national auto. He called me from a completely different number each time and when i told him I wont pay him anything unless my car was sold and that there are scams like that on craigslist and he hung up on me, got my answer that its a scam!

Called.  Hung up.  No msg.

This joker just called my boyfriends cell phone and MY landline at the same time.  My boyfriend actually talked to the guy and told him "look, I want to sell the boat myself, not give you a cut".   The guy said "ok" and hung up.  We got another call from a scammer a couple days ago - my beau called the number back, got voice mail and gave them a piece of his mind.  Yes, we have an ad on Craigslist for our boat.  I would like to know if I report this to CL's, will they do anything about it?

I also just received a call from "Ben" at National Auto.  The number is the same as everyone else posted, 415-992-5431.  I also have a truck on Craigslist.

i have a couple things on CL every time they hang up but last time i called back and it went to a recorder i said to talk to me next time or stop f-ing calling me

This is a solicitation for an add you must have placed on craigslist.

I received a call from this number.  The caller was from National Auto.  The call was a response from an ad I had placed on craigslist.

I have an add on craiglist. They call me from this number: 415-992-5431 I didn't pick up because I didn't know the number. I think it's a scam. The guy left a massege, said he is from national auto, and he want a return call at 866 480 8409. This company doesn't exists. They want to pay cash for my truck. Oh yeh, don't waste your time for scammers.

they dont want to talk to you, they want you to call them back so they can scam you internationally

I had a call from this 415 number and he said his name was Ben and to call him at 888-719-9755 and when I call this number all i get is an answering machine that says if you had a car or boat for sale to leave you name and number and they will call you back

Yeah they're sneaky- mine starts out with him talking to someone in the room - "I'm gonna leave a voicemail- Hi this is Ben..."
When I realized that the first message I got started this EXACT same way I decided to google the number.

Craiglist Scam. I have a car on there and have gotten 2 seperate voicemails from this 415 number. They both say the same thing, telling me that my car is under book value and they want to buy it right away. they're good too cause the message actually says the make and model of my car listing. Both times it was EXACTLY the same excet the call back numbers - one was 800-678-6505 the other was 866-531-3582. they have voicemail set up for both but after reading all these I guess those are fake too.

Shame too- I really wanted to sell my car! Anyone looking for an 2004 Audi?! lol

Just received my second call from "Ben" from the Vehicle Research Department at National Auto. I have my car on craigslist. He said to call back as soon as I could. He could buy my car outright for my asking price. His "boss" is interested about finding more information about my car. After he gave me the 1-800-556-7916 number and was about to hang up he said this in the background to his boss. "Hey, boss I just called on that Mitsubishi, so we'll see if they'll call us back..." Got that calls too. I have a car ad on Craigslist in Portland, Oregon. It was Ben from National Auto Research Company (or something stupid like that).

CALLERS ARE SCAMS.  THEY ALSO USE THE PHONE NUMBER OF 800-678-6505 FROM A GUY NAMED BEN.

I have an item on Craigslist.....keep getting  calls and hangups from "Unknown Caller".
