This was a valid call for us as we had an appointment to get portraits taken at church.   It is Olan Mills who takes photos for church directories.

Same thing. Number called around 8 to get an appointment for our church directory. Kind of crazy to have my church just giving out the number. I didn't make the appointment because it was an unexpected call and although its picture time at church you just never know

Yeah except I actually do attend a church that actually is doing a photo directory and I actually did sign up for an appointment.  

There's caution, and then there's paranoia.

I just got a call @ 8:45. A recorded message was left twice telling me to call an 800 number and make an appt for some Methodist church I never heard of. I used to be a Methodist, but no longer go to that church. And, I never made an appt for a portrait and my fellow members are not waiting for me.   Another scam.

I received a call from this number stating they were from St. John's Baptist church for a free picture for the church directory. This seems very strange as I have a 320 phone number and they had a southern accent and a number not from Minnesota.

Got a call at 7:10pm. Caller said that she was with Normandie Church of Christ and wanted to schedule my  
photo session for the church directory. I have never heard of or visited this church.

I received a couple of calls from a lady - from this particular number at 8:20 pm and the next day at 8:10 pm. The first time I hang up, the second time I wanted to found out, so I answered, and she mentioned the church I currently go to, ...scary right? so I just confirmed as I was a little confused at the same time. After that, she said that my appointment to take my photo will be on Oct. 22 at 10:40 am. She never say where. I assumed we will meet at my church. She also sounds demanding and arrogant.

I got a recorded message from a place calling on behalf of my church to make an appointment for a portrait for the church directory.   I haven't been to church in years. I would probably make the joint spontaniously combust.

Yep it is a legit call, reminding me of our apt Sat for church pics.

I had two voice mails the past two days and called the 800 866 2263 number and told them to take my number off their list.  I asked where they got it and they said from my church directory. Strange, the number called was my work number. This company works out of Tennessee.

Caller ID said "Church Directory" Trying to set up photo session to allow a new church directory to be created.

My Church isn't creating a new Church directory, nor did they provide names of their congregation to Olan Mills.

Another marketing ploy, if you ask me....

I got a call from this same phone number on my cell number.  I am scheduled to have an Olan Mills picture taken at my church on Saturday for our new pictorial directory.  They were probably reminding me about my appointment.

I just got a call on my cell phone, they left a vm claiming to be Mike from St Bridgid Catholic Church to set up our portrait time for the church directory.  However, they did leave a number to call back which was 800-866-2263.  (I am not Catholic)

This is Olan Mills, a photography company for church directories.  They were calling me to confirm my appt I have this week.

The same thing happened to myself. How did they get my number?!?!?

I just got a call from this number and i missed it, but they left me a message saying that they needed me to confirm my appt.  I had never made any sort of appt for gettin gmy picture taken. I called them back and it went to the voicemail saying that it was Olan Mills Church directory. I dont want to be called again!

I've received numerous calls from this phone number. Church Directory 423-629-7583. A lot of posts here say this is for a church directory. But I haven't been a member of a church for 30 years. I?m not associated with any church and have an unlisted number. So why are they bothering me? How did they get my # ?

Used to work for Olan Mills- this is legit. We just made phone calls, sometimes at weird hours, and we were all cranky and bored. Just a call because you are members (or so Olan thinks) of a church they are making directories for. Just a reminder.

We keep getting calls from these jerks.  I've tried picking up but they hang up each time.  They still keep calling.  I think it's a scam; we just had church directories made 2 years ago.
