I just received a call asking about my windows, heavy accented lady, she asked about bugs and that she has received several reports of bugs coming from my computer and she was from the support center.  I asked which computer, I have three, she said they are all hooked up to one internet? I said NO, They are hooked up to three different ones, so which computer are  you referring too.. The one at your home. "  Which one?  Are you with Microsoft? No I am with Windows Support. Oh! And why are you calling?

I then said I plugged her number into the internet and this is what it  says about your number.. You are a scammer.  That not only does it say you are scammer, your not a very good one. If you put as much effort into a real job, you may go far. My time is valuable don't call again.

I received call from this phone number tonight.  Woman, heavy accent, much the same as all have stated above.  She asked for me by name.  I asked who was calling, and she also said something about being from Windows support, to which I replied, "Of course you're not; that's ridiculous" and then I hung up.

I have a simple rule of thumb; if the number is not in my phone book, or contacts in my iPhone, let them leave a message. If no message, oh well.

I wish I knew how to stop the phone calls - like yours - same phone- they start at 8:30 am and go on until 10 p.m.  I have to leave my phone off the hook or call myself to make it "busy".

Any ideas how to stop him?

I like to think of people as trustworthy, but I'm glad I'm not that naive.  It's definitely a scam.  Beware!

433-400-4334 called me and asked for the owner of the phone number in a heavy accent.  It was noisy in the background.  He told me he was from Microsoft and they had been receiving error messages from my computer for a few days.  I said no he hadn't and hung up on him.

I do hope that means they don't call me again.  I wonder how we can report these people to the police.  They should be shut down.

why doesn't everyone have caller id?  Just look at the number/name  when they call and CHOOSE to answer or not answer based on what is shown!  SIMPLE.  You are wasting your time with comments on asking who these people are!  Save yourself the aggravation and move on with life! Unless you like posting and complaining about something you don't have much control over.

This is a scam.  I got hit up on both my cell and home phone on friday from another number which does not exist and this one.  What ever you do - do not give out any information about your computer.  Make sure you have a secure firewall set up in your home and run an antivirus software check as well.

If you simply ask them what version of windows you have they will hang up.

Same deal.  Heavy Indian accent. Said he was from Windows, and my computer was about to crash.  I didn't think MS was in the business of calling its customers like this.  Immediate red flag.

I asked him for his call back number.  He said he'd call me back.  I said, "No, I'll call you back."  He gave me 213-765-8172, which is a non working number.

I tried calling his number, 433-400-4334,  and of course it doesn't work either.  I'm on the Do Not Call List so I'll report it in hopes there's something to be done.

I'm running anti virus now, just in case there is some way these people can hack into computers through these kind of calls, but I'd doubt it.

Worse yet, the bogus "windows" caller with the heavy accent logged into a remote website less than an hour after I was having legitimate work done remotely. I have no idea how he was able to pop up the screen for me to accept an invite on the ammyy.com remote access website. I thought it was the technician checking back in so I accepted the invitation. When he typed a message about Windows I questioned him and had him call me. Within seconds into the conversation I powered off my computer and had no issues. He of course hung up when the questions got difficult and he had no place to go.
Beware.

I just got this call from a woman with thick accent and much the same story,  I asked where she was calling from -- that it sounded like India.  She said no, she was calling from Los Angeles.  Sure!  The call was breaking up so might have been a cell phone.  I hung up on her.  She didn't scam this old lady!

LOL BEST call yet. Heavy accent kept demanding I talk to him about my WINDOWS computer. Which one? I politely inquired . Your WINDOWS WINDOWS WINDOWS machine. The conversation continued in this manner until I asked him yet again WHICH computer in particular he was inquiring about. At which point he told me to "Shut up and just listen!" LOL Really? I asked for a supervisors name and number. He kept asking about my WINDOWS (yelling it) machine. I asked again for a name and he yelled F*** YOU and hung up!! ROFL   I finally annoyed one of them more than they annoyed me!!!

This DOUCHE has been calling 15 plus times a day. We JUST set up our landline a week ago. So obviously someone out there is selling the numbers to people like this aka : Time Warner. These people wont stop and we wont answer. What are the options besides not answering and being annoyed just by seeing the number! Or not turning the phone off ? Changing our number out of blatent harassment ?....

Got a call from a lady wanting to talk to the "main operator of the computer."  She proceeded to tell me my computer had germs and how they are very dangerous.  She said I got them from emails.  I asked her if I should call the police about the germs if they are so dangerous.  She wanted to know if the police are the ones who fix my computer.  I asked her if I could record the conversation but she didn't understand recording.  By now I couldn't stop laughing about her continued concern about the germs.  I suggested she learn the terms right if she is going to try to pull a scam.  "It is called a VIRUS not a germ."  Still now clue-I hung up.  Oh, well fun times with idiots gave me a laugh.

I am VERY annoyed about these calls!!  My mother has been getting these calls at least 4x a week telling her that her computer has a major problem and needs her to log on and follow his/her instructions.  Funny b/c my mom doesn't even own a computer nor internet service!
First few times was a man with heavy accent saying from Windows and last time (yesterday) was a woman with heavy accent saying she was from Best Buy.

Just received a call from this number, second one this week, Sam spoke with a heavy Indian accent, said he was with Windows Support, from Best Buy Support in Los Angeles.  When they called earlier in the week  I asked at what point in the conversation were they going to ask for my credit card number and they hung up.  Today they were going to walk me through how to fix the problem on my computer.  I told him that I wasn't comfortable with that and that I would take my computer to the store if I thought there was a problem.

I suspect this is a scam.

got a call from this number 4/8/13 at noon.  did not answer, caller left no message.  based on preceding entries on this number, this is a serious scam.  What they are going to walk you through is not a "fix" -- this is either an attempt to steal personal information "now login to your bank and tell me exactly what you're typing" or it will be walk-through to download malicious software (in the guise of a "utility" or "security" software) that is most likely a keystroke logger and/or remote control application or both.  What these people want is access to your pc to turn it into a spam-sending robot for them, or to get all your account and password information.

Repeated call. Foreign accent individual states he is calling on behalf of "Mr. ? smith with Microsoft Windows Support". He states that our computer is generating constant error messages that are allowing hackers to download all our I formation and putting it out on the network. He demands we turn on the computer and they will "walk" us through the steps to "fix" the problem. When we refused, he stated our computer would be shut down at. Idnight and all our info lst permanently. We have demanded they stop the harassment, that we know it is a s M, but they conti us to call several times a day ( as many as fi e times in one day).
