It started on 8/07/30. They call 2 or 3 times a day.  I don't answer and they don't leave a message on the answering machine.

They're calling me too! It started yesterday 8/7/08, I dont answer and they don't leave a message. Who the heck is it?

Received several calls from this number. I tried answering and finally after about 4 calls someone answered and asked me about my subscription to the Star Tribune. He asked if my service has started correctly per my request. After saying yes he told me that I could pay for my 13 week subscription over the phone. I paid for this service when I signed up. I would assume it is a scam for credit card information. Calling the number back does no good since it is only an automated line asking for your phone number to be removed.

Same thing here, I payed for 13 weeks of the sunday paper at the star tribune booth when I attended the car craft summer nats. The first week came a day late and it didn't show up at all this week. I've been receving calls from this # ever since I sighned up.

Got about eight calls from this number, and I never answer. Finally a woman left a message stating that she was calling from my local newspaper office (Opelika Auburn News) to check up if I was getting the daily newspaper.

I just got the first call from them today..........but seeing that these calls are all newspaper related, I'm assuming that this call is in regard to the new subscription I started with the Dallas Morning News.
I will answer next time I see the number and see what happens.

They called me today and I did not answer, they called back at 8:45 pm asking for me.  I said theres was noone there by that name at this number.  Said it was regarding my local newspaper.  said they'd call back tomorrow.  Caller ID came up Oregon call.

Calls go to my voice mail. never leaves a message, but I did recently sign up for the Sunday Houston Chronicle.  I will deal with them directly now that I have an idea what its about!

I just now took this call and the woman seemed hesitant when she tried to pronounce my home town. She also said "hold on" and then came back to ask me if I wanted to renew my subscription and that she would take my credit card information.

We have gotten phone calls from our paper before but the name of the paper always comes up on the caller ID and the person is perky etc and there's lots of background noise. This was WAY too fishy.

I did some checking with my local newspaper office and she confirmed that this is actually a legitimate company that calls to verify service of the newspaper. I informed her that it came across as deviant and most people did not think that it was anything to do with the newspaper. The reason they had asked me if I wanted to pay was most likely a lack of properly looking over the file to see I had already paid. The woman on the phone thanked me for the feed back and said she would be sure to make some changes. Hope this helps people!
