Received call appearing to be from this NOT WORKING number.  Must be a spoof of caller-id and probably a scam. Beware!

I picked up, gave my last name and the person hung up. Time  was 2:47 EDT.

Received two calls, Listed as Massachusetts 1-508-987-0427 on caller ID, at 11:21am and 1:54 pm 9/16/2008 EDT. After first call I tried to call back and got message that the number was not working.  I answered the second call and was pitched by an male with an Indian accent for continuation of an online business listing and was asked to verify my address which I did, then I was told that I had to speak with a second person for verification.  I couldn't understand this second person, male, who had an Indian accent and spoke so fast that I couldn't follow what he was pitching so I told him to cancel my subscription.  I had to tell him three times to cancel before he stopped talking.

its the same people as 'usa yellowpages' and 'usa yellowbook' - they're data mining information on your company so that they can sell those hot lists to marketing companies and salespersons....... They're based in india, despite you caller id and there is no free listing except in a google pagerank 0 website that no one has ever seen.
Not so much a scam as it is a shady and lying marketing company.

Received this call 3 or 4 times. no answer.

I received a call from this number and listed on caller id as Massachusetts this morning and had to ask multiple times what the purpose of the call was and to identify his company name.  He spoke so fast and with such an accent that I was not able to understand most of what he said.
It did seem to be someone trying to verify a business address and phone number etc.  I told him that I could not understand him and hung up.

We have the same problem.  Almost always a hang-up call, and the only time I heard a voice it was a women with an accent saying 'hello' in response to my 5 to 8 hello's, and then a hang-up.

I've gotten them about 10 times in the last 3 days. I'm on the donotcall list but that doesn't seem to be an issue for them, huh? I reported it, but we'll see if that does anything.

I have received several calls from this number.  When I attempted to call back, I got a recording that the number was no longer in service.

They have called 3x today. First time I answered, they hung up. Next 2 times I screened the calls. No message. I called the number and it is "not in service".

I know we are all so fed up with these types of calls!
