they call all the time, it's really annoying when they call morning noon and night
ednliz 2013-01-25 18:22:45 Unknown
The number spoofing is also why you get the same call from different numbers. After a while I started adding the scammers' numbers to a contact called SPAM on my phone. I have 12 numbers in there now and I have only gotten a repeat call once!
ednliz 2013-01-25 18:20:23 Unknown
The worst part is that the number on your screen is probably not the number these criminals are actually calling from. If you go to the FTC web site (FTC maintains the Do Not Call Registry) and search on Robocalling, you will find out more about how these companies get around the Do Not Call list and are calling you illegally. Because they spoof the number they are calling from, it makes it harder for law enforcement to find them and put them out of business.

Just called my cell phone. I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. Scammers, as usual.

Scum bags claiming to be able to lower the interest rate on my credit cards. People really fall for this?
518-795-3421 2013-01-25 16:42:04 Unknown
Automated messag to begin with stating that they're a credit card service and currently there is no problems with my credit but to press the number 1 to speak to an agent. When I got a human on the line I asked to be removed from their list and they hung up on me.

For those of you getting these types of calls from either "Rachel" or "Tiffany" at "Cardholder Services," please know that these scam artists and spammers who use robocall methods to annoy the living crap out of people are on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Public Enemy Number One list. The link below, which leads to a FTC website, explains how these monsters are being legally pursued. Sooner or later they will all end up in prison, where they rightfully belong!

Some services, such as Verizon, allow you to block up to 5 numbers or so at a time.
This one will be added to my list.
If you are curious how to do this, call verizon, or log into MyVerizon and choose your particular device. There should be a section called something like "Do not accept calls from these numbers:"
Again, you only have 5 or so to work with, so won't stop all calls or calls that are cycling through multiple numbers, but i helps.

A Robocall from a company claiming they will negotiate with my banks and creditors to lower the interest charged on my credit cards and loans. I was instructed to push 1 to talk to a person. The person answered and I asked to be removed from their call list and told them I was on the Do Not Call list. He was very snotty and told me that I called him by pushing 1 and it did not matter if I was on the Do Not Call list and they did not have to remove my number from their call list. These asshats have come up with a work around to the FTC rules. The Panasonic phone I use (KX-TGA750) with caller ID allows me to block calls. I will report them to the FTC and block them! They did not identify themselves, crooks!

They called while I was practicing my French horn. Pressed 1 to speak to representative. When she came on, the phone went into the horn's bell and I blew a mighty note. Probably knocked off her headset.

I get that daily several times a day no matter what number mostly from NY. I'm on the do not call registry too. Little good that does. I've complained to the attorney general and all they would tell me is to get the name of the caller, name of the business, time and date. I did that, submitted to to the AG and nothing ever happens, not even a response.

Another phone call from this number. Another scam. Who can stop this?
Ef Em 2013-01-18 17:46:43 Telemarketer
Nothing that you do will stop them from calling you. The calls will continue since the major money is being made with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com.
If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. These scum are making money by sending bogus Caller ID information to your phone company. Telephone numbers are Calling Name (CNAM) provisioned and stored in a special database accessible to other telecom utilities. This means that for any outbound call that transmits a special code corresponding to one of their phone numbers, these criminals collect a fee for transmitting the caller ID information to the Local Exchange Carrier receiving the call. When you see a phone number in your caller ID (along with some name like Card Services), your phone company has to reimburse the caller for downloading that info from the database where it?s stored.
They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them.
What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list.
2. Consider blocking the number
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office.
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).
Here is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how these companies are getting away with this activity. http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com

These calls are coming to my land line EVERY DAY. I usually just pick up and stay silent. Tried to call the number back and got a message that "this number is no longer in service"!! Will go to the national do not call registry but my bet is that they are using different numbers EVERY TIME THEY CALL.

They call me every day. Different numbers but always the same company. So now I just hang up and call them back. Over and over again. Depending on my mood and how much free time I have I'll do this for hours. Every 30 seconds tying up their phone line and making it impossible for them to use to bother other people. If more people did this I think that telemarketers would spend so much time trying to get new phone numbers that they might actually give up on harassing people. Also silver strand enterprises is on Facebook go to their page and leave them a message. The owner is guy named Thomas Luczak and lives Augora Hills Ca. It's amazing what you can find out online, like people's address. The names of their children and their addresses. Lots of interesting things. So if Tom is bothering you find new ways to let him know about it.
