I have heard that New York State DMV sells our contact information to telemarketers.

They claim to sell P***s soap -.-

I was sworn at by a woman, then I was disconnected. Upon recalling it's FDS telemarketers. Odd

This week I have received four messages from this number in which the person says, "hello, hello, hello" and it sounds like a call center in the background.  My phone number is unlisted.

First, they called and I couldn't understand what they were saying.
I called them back and found out that "certain homeowners" qualified for their offer.
I explained that "I'm homeless and I live on the street and in homeless shelters."
The girl said she was sorry but I didn't qualify.

They called talked with my son regarding the need to get help with his York Department of Motor Vehicle license and lower his car insurance...oh how I wish that was true:-)
I tried to call them and was on hold forever then they hung up.

Funny, i recieved a call from this number saying they were"GE home security" calling to verify information. When i told the woman i had security service, she hung up.  This comes several days after a young man with a "GE" logo on a polo shirt came to my house saying he was working with my security company to make sure my system was updated. He asked what kind of system i had and left. He knew my name. I didnt think anything of it until the phone call today. I called my security company. They dont send people door to door. I checked with GE. They dont send people door to door. The folks from that phone number are scammers!

Yep got one from FDS Security Systems, put number on my permanent block list.

They said I won a free home security system from FDS Security Systems.  A person will be calling back to get information.  Ummmmmm yes, a call came thru from Texas.  Guess who didn't answer.

Did not answer but looked up number and saw that it was spam.  Didn't call them back but saw that there were many complaints about this being a sales call for insurance

I received a random call from this number, AFTER I had already placed my number on a no call list over two months ago.

Called my cell phone while I was at work.  Although I am in the 585 area code, I didn't recognize the number so I ignored the call and sent it to voicemail.  Caller didn't leave a message.  I am no where near the time to renew my license, registrations, auto insurance or inspections.  If this had truly been from NYS DMV, I would think that their number would either show up as a toll free number or a number out of 518 area code.  
Based on the previous comments, this is probably a scam and it looks like they're just using caller ID spoofing so that the caller ID will show a local number and the person receiving the call will be more likely to answer.

So if you call and complain and explain you're on the DO NOT CALL list they will hang up on you.
I have a VOIP, a bottle of scotch and a long weekend!  Lets see how they like to get automated calls all day.

I called them back and it says that it is a non-working number.  lot of crooks out there.  the government reporting system of do not call, fbi, cia, ftc, fcc, etc..  all are useless!  I do not have any answers as I have tried everything for over 12 years and changing my phone number a few times.  it is just hopeless.

Received a call on my cell phone (do-not-call registered).

Recorded message said "This is an urgent message from the New York Department of Motor Vehicles"
and went on to say that they had determined that I had been overcharged on my car insurance and to
press 1 to speak to operator or press 3 to be removed from list.

I reported call to both FCC and national do-not call registry.

Calls from 585-216-1337 are from a sleazy telemarking service offering bad auto insurance. They are ignoring the Do Not Call list. Report them at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.

Got this call today- how do they know about my driver's liscense?

Received call on my cell phone, they didn't leave message and when I returned the call it was for reduction on my car insurance. Please report!!!!!

This came through on my cell phone as saying the following, according to DMV records and the recent renewal of my license they want to talk to me to lower my car insurance. I amsure this is illegal and want it reported..They should not be using info from the DMV as they say they are. What is going on here? This is my cell phone number which is not on record according to the DMV.. They probably get your DOB and fish around knowing this was a year of renewal for me. Please report!!!

When I called back it was a message that asked if I wanted to learn about reduced rates on auto insurance.
I was given an option to remove my number from future offers.
