Same call from the same people

I got a call a couple of times from this number. I agree with Miss Laurie, I too took out a loan with Spot and ran into some financial trouble and it never got paid back. This company agreed to take a settlement and I am paying them back weekly. At first I was hesitant, but is my debt and I do have to pay it back:(.  

Same call with recording asking for father in law who lives in VA and I live in FL, also called my residence number which I have never giving out to anyone. A man named John Hill with Check Security left same number to call back 1-888-546-8853 ext 307. Said would be served certified mail, blah blah blah...IGNORE IT. I am a debt collector and there are procedures. Look up the FDCPA and most importantly if you called the number back, check your phone bill for excessive charges as sometimes these scammers keep u on the line to rack up charges..there have been cases of this targeting the elderly....very sad, wish I could find the idiots......if the recording or the human does not state "this is an attempt to collect a debt" its not a debt! Plus if you didnt receive  a collection letter in the mail...its a scam...
The mini Miranda is the statement debt collectors are required to use when they?re contacting you about a debt. In their initial communication with you, whether that communication is made in writing or over the phone, the collector must state that they?re attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. In every other communication, they must let you know that they?re a debt collector.

This warning is referred to as the mini Miranda because it?s similar to the Miranda rights that law enforcement must use to warn suspects of their right to remain silent, the right to an attorney, and the right to a court-appointed attorney if the suspect can?t afford one.

this company is a  call center that is total rude and try to be very demanding a scam.

Hello! I received a phone call today from 1-888-546-8853 and it was weird because it was a voice message saying that it was a very important ,and when they said my name they asked for a (Frances Smith ),which Smith is my maiden name they didn't even have the name right,it was a man who did not give his name he just said that it was a call from Check Security Associates,and that there was some information that was reported to them,some complaint that was file with their office and that I had been notified by mail which I have never received anything in the mail pertaining to Check  Security Associates.I do believe that I would remember something like that and dealt with it accordingly.They then said that I would need to call to give them a statement on my behalf to be filed with the paralegal as soon as possible and if I failed to call it would be looked at as non compliance,They then stated that I had been notified.they also gave me the number 1-888-546-8853 and I was asked to give them a call  and use a reference number that they gave me to refer to  the matter. I have no idea what this is about and I am very concerned about it .I know I have no debts or false anything going on ,so I'm clueless  can someone help please on this issue???.

Same thing over and over again. Every six months or so I get a stupid call like this. I'm told I took out a loan over the internet. They want me to verify my personal info, I tell them I don't do it over the phone, but they could send me the info through the mail. They also tell me I'm going to be served within the hour. Still waiting on the last one over six months ago. Lol!!! This number is actually registered to a company called luxury home outlet which was also a scam company.

I received a voice mail message from 855 543 0056 the other day with a half robo voice half human message informing me that I needed to call them back and reference a certain number. They also apparently contacted members of my family telling them that I would be arrested!! Today they called and I answered. They asked for me by name and when I asked who was calling the lady was reluctant to tell me! She finally told me that her name was Amy Banks and she was with Check Security. She refused to give me their legal street address and accused me of wanting to harass her personally. She then called me a low life! I told her that I wanted the address of the company that she worked for again and she refused so I asked to speak to her manager/supervisor. Supervisors name was Brian Davis. He wanted me to give them my personal information and confirm my ssn. I told him the same thing I told Amy, that I would like them to send me proof that I owe this debt via certified mail. He told me that he was sure that I had received plenty of notices about it in the past. He then asked if he should assume that I was not going to pay the debt and I told him again that I needed the documentation before submitting any form of payment. He said that they would send it and hung up. I am sick of being harassed by these jerks! Is there any way to report them?

What is meant by that is there is a post on another site identical to yours with a completely different first and last name. Nice try. Debt or not debt, it is Federal Law, a debt validation letter must be issued, especially if requested, by MAIL before any efforts to collect.  License to collect with full address (no PO box) must be provided.

I was contacted by this person today. they knew my personal information and claimed to be a credit company.  when I asked for a email with the infor I was refused. they got very rude.

* The loan company directed you to an out of state debt collector, whose name was not previously mentioned in this thread
* You just happened to stumble on this thread, that was complaint about the owner of a phone number - a phone number that is used to threaten people.
* You then praised the debt collector by name

Not a scam. Had my own personal debt with a loan I took out. The dates were all correct along with my bank account. I remember taking out the loan on the dates they have stated. The store info they gave me was also correct. Called the loan company and was directed to Check Security Associates.

This is not a scam company. I did take out a loan with ace cash express and they are just the company who are calling to collect the debt that has not been paid. I called ace cash express and I was forwarded straight to this company. The company is Check Security Associates. They even offered me a settlement to pay off my debt. I talked to several people and they were all polite.

I'd say scam. Called and left voicemail asking for someone I've never heard of before. Said I needed to respond immediately or legal charges will be filed against me. Didn't give a name of a company or anything. Sounds like they're phishing for financial information.

This is a scam. They want you to call back and give the case number. Then when you say you want more information they get insanely rude and abrasive. Hang up call the police to report.  The message they left said  to sign for certified notice schedule for specific day and time to be at address.  Do not do not even call back.

Multiple calls from this James Sim little s***.. leaving information on someone not me.. their FULL BIRTHDATE and last four of their SSN. I call back to let him know he's breaking federal laws because my voicemail doesn't even have a greeting of my name. I used to work as a bill collector and my friend was an assistant for our states AG. This guy got real smart and f****ng nasty with me too.,

I think he might be like a one man show. You dial any extensions and you still get James Sim unless it's busy because he's talking to someone else. I told him to tell me what type of company it is. Says it's a business in the UNITED STATES. That's it. Asked me if I will admit to being a child murderer, as if that was the same to asking if he was a bill collector.

A James Sims got completely nasty with me on the phone, and was telling me to postpone my mortgage payment so that I could pay them. He refused to give me their physical address.

Multiple phone msgs (mostly robo-voice) identifying caller only as "the legal outsourcing department" [of WHAT? a bank, business, or government agency???  they never say!]    Messages insist I call them back immediately regarding "a case filed against me for examination and discovery on a transaction through my account" . My return calls to that number always reach another robo-voice which just says no one is available to take your call.  There is no way this is legit!    Notice of any REAL legal case would provide specifics and come by mail, not phone.  They are totally phishing for financial information.

Got a voice recorder message threatening legal action from these jokers.  No name given, only the call back number 888-546-8853.

Got a couple of calls from this number and they said its a check security associates. Looking for someone named Jereold. Apparently they do the pre work for attorneys and apparently this guy had some bounced checks, from what I could gather, that he's in trouble for.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone.  I didn't answer, but they left a message.  Half of it was obviously a robotic type pre-recorded thing, the other half sounded like a real person.  Anyway, they claim it was to collect a debt from someone named Bobby Harris.  I do not know anyone by that name and this has been my phone number for 11+ years now.  I would say it's a possible scam.

I got a call from this number too, claiming that I owed a debt and they needed a statement from me, refused to tell me who the debt was for, how much it was, refused to send me paperwork through the mail, got very rude and I ended up having to hang up on them after they got abusive.

So, they called my cell looking for someone I do not know so I called back telling them I have no clue who they were looking for and they were kinda rude and hung up on me.
