Just got a text like this.  Sounded very fishy since it looks like he pulled the info straight off of the craigslist ad. I did a phone lookup and thank goodness didn't waste my time responded to this scammer.

This person texted me about an ad I have on Craigslist. Thanks to reverse lookup and consumer comments, I didn't waste valuable time.  He/she wanted to know what my name was, what condition the furniture is in, why I was selling it, etc.  Freely admitted he/she is from Manhattan, New York.

He texted us about an ad we have on Craigslist.  We suspected that it was a scam as the area code was listed as New York and we're in Washington State so we told him to call if he wanted more information.  He texted again at 1am and said he's deaf and that's why he won't call. Yeah right, I'm sure it's because he's got a Nigerian accent.  Don't respond to his text messages!
