(646)450-4821 just messaged me about my ring that I have posted on kijiji about wanting to buy my engagement ring for his daughter in west Africa. He is on a business trip right now from Ottawa ON. Kept persisting about my paypal account. Also informed him that I do not know how to use pay pal as well as I would like cash for it, he sent me a link to paypal to get set up. Wanted to offer me 200$ for the shipping fee. Once I stated that I was informed that this number is a scam, I have received no more texts.

Just got a series of texts. Was polite to him, but obviously a scammer.

Kijiji & Craigslist are NOT eBay. You shouldn't take Paypal. These sites were meant for local only, cash only. Just put NO PAYPAL in your ad, & WILL NOT respond to out of town texts/calls. If you are in NYC, & someone in San Diego wants to buy your car (sight unseen), it's a scam.

It doesn't matter what price you put on. These are the scammers and they want your item shipped out and will pay by PayPal and as soon as you ship out the item, they will stop the PayPal payment.  PayPal is very unsecured way of transferring money. They sent out msgs to everyone who lists any tipe of cell phone anywhere in the country.  There is a lot of ppl. who don't know and they fall for this scam, and they loose their phones and the money is taken back from PayPal immediately.

I didn't know and I have him my Paypal address.  Can he do anything with that?  I got creeped out because he was vein persistant so I stopped the deal but I'm worried he can get ito my paypal

samething happened to me. they tried to scam me but I called them out when I googled the number.
finally left me alone.

Craigslist Paypal scam - pretty funny as I called them on it after googling the number when they kèpt calling the posted iPhone the item

Craigslist scammer offered 300 for a 175 iPhone he kept calling "the item " called him out on it but he continued to press the PayPal scam - think they seek access to your account

I've been getting numerous messages from this number...even explained to him everything. It's the same crap over and over again! They don't listen to a word you say! SCAM!!! DO NOT SEND TO THIS!!!!

I had ads on kijiji for items for sale. This number texted me asking for paypal account info and said would send payment if i gave him my info. Sounds like a scam and clearly it is. DO NOT SELL OR SEND ANYTHING TO THIS PERSON!!!!! SCAM!!!!

Same thing happened to me person tried to scam me aftet I put something on sale on kijiji

I also am getting texts like crazy from this person offering more than my item is worth.  Wanting me to ship my phone and he will pay by paypal

Unbelievable - "she" just texted back with an email address after I increased price from 1500 to 15000.00. Email is donnagreenwood1931@gmail.com

I've had the same experience. Advertised on Kijiji and he texted back asking me to send out a PayPal email address instead of me billing his email address. Besides which, Kijiji is supposed to be local sales and I'll only take cash.

I'm going to multiply the price by 10 and say I'm going to invoice him on his PayPal.
