These people leave harassing messages without a word about why they were calling. Their messages are also threatening. Don't give them any info, they're scammers.

Caller claims to be part of some kind of cedit card cost reduction scheme. Risky to partake in this type of call, it might be real, it might be fraudulent. There is no way of knowing. But, then, that applies to most unsolicited, unwanted, telemarketing, fund raising, charitable organization, survey, or any other type of unknown phone call these days - it might be legitimate in the sense that they really are who they say they are but, on the other hand, who knows, they may be something totally different, anything from a harmless nuisance to a dangerous underground organization on the other end of that line.

I do not recommend finding out the hard way. Best practice is to ask the caller to remove your number and stop calling.

11:02 am - answered but dead air

Three calls in three hours... annoying!

Caller ID just says Ontario.

Now it is 12:16 PM. Today they have called 4 times so far. No message, just a click sound.
They called few times last week, but I did,t pick the phone.
When the rules for the DNCL say that companies can call other companies to offer products or services from "TIME TO TIME", it means 3 or 4 times a year, not 3 or 4 times a day.

These people have been calling us all week. They are one of those numerous credit-debit processing loans/rates scam places.. Everytime we ask them to please stop calling they hang up on us. And then call back the very next day. We, like most people, have call display so I have started calling them back. I will continue to harrass them back every time they phone. People should be really wary about these type of credit processing scams. We get calls like this from about 12 different "companies" all week long. They collectively call, literally, hundreds of times in a week. If consumers and businesses were more savy about these kind of things maybe places like this would go out of business. I realize I have only minimal power to make them actually stop but I think it might be fun messing with them since they are stupid enough to call from an unblocked number. Good luck to everyone who has ever been hassled by these ridiculous telemarketers.

Called my place of employment and asked for someone who hasn't worked here in over 10 year.  I tried to direct him to my manager, but he kept asking about our credit/debit machines and our statements for it.  Five minutes later, I got another call from the same number, but this time it was a girl.  Neither time did they actually call my manager on his direct line although I provided it both times.  This seems suspicious, do not provide any info to them.

I hate this company, we told them at least 30 times so far this year that we do not have credit card machines.

Asked for the owner by his first name. I asked who was calling. He said Andrew from Best Buy. I had to get him to repeat it. He sounded urgent!! haha. I told him the owner was not available. He asked when he would be available. I said it was hard to say. So he gave me his number. I asked the nature of his call. He said it was about rate reduction on our visa/mc/debit machine.
The thing is, the owner passes these calls on to me. And I have been told by our accountant to say no, we do not make enough transactions to interest them. But in order to save time (as I have literally received what a hundred of these calls from countless different companies who all say the exact same thing), I just tell them we are not interest and to please stop calling. They always get irate and ask me to tell them why I think they are calling. Then a new company calls. I have only received ONE call from someone I could understand clearly who was actually nice. Still it makes me uncomfortable answering their questions honestly because I do not know why they are or what possible damage they could do with the truth.

Let me update...

The number showed up on my phone again when someone was calling about some credit card thing. I asked for a phone number to call to have it removed from their list, as my number is on the Do Not Call Registry. He said it was a business number he called, and I advised him it was not, it was personal. He told me the number would be removed from their list.

Still, they must be spoofing the number or using a calling card, as it is a calling card access number.

This number is actually an access number for long distance calling cards. See: http://axient-telecom.com/?page=longdistance

It may be getting spoofed by another source, or it may be that someone was calling using a calling card.
