I also have been getting numerous calls from this number, they never leave a message. It is annoying to not know who calls my phone 10 times a day.

I keep getting the same call 2 times per day...I could set my watch to it.  They never leave a message, however I have left them several to cease and desist.  I believe I did get someone on this line once, explained that I had only had my new cell number for a couple of weeks and had no info on the person they were calling.  The woman on the other end claimed to be from Newsday and then proceeded to try to sell me the newspaper.  I responded that I read the NY Post and that I would never buy the liberal rag known as Newsday.  I was also told that my number would be taken out of their database, yet I keep getting calls twice a day.

Update:  I believe I have found the culprit (I used to work for private detectives; comes in handy sometimes)...I was mistaken...the woman who answered that number was not selling Newsday...she was selling USA Today...very easy to mistake the two names when you're on a cellphone on a busy train at rush hour...it is a landline from Shoreview, MN and the provider is US Link, Inc.  I found them by inputting "newspaper" in the search engine for the same town and state and came up with Gannett Co., which puts out many newspapers with USA Today being their biggest circulation.  The main number for Gannett is 651-636-4100.  I intend to call that number to again tell them to cease and desist.

She asked for Joanna. I said, I'm sorry you have the wrong number. She said, the number must have been reassigned, are you the head of the house?  I said there is no house, since I don't own one and I was driving.  Then I said, if you're selling something, don't call here any more.  The lady said Ok. We'll see.

Been getting calls from this number several times a day.  They never leave a message.  I finally decided to answer last night and they said they were from Newsday.

Receive numerous of these calls from this number.  They never leave a message.  I called and was told they were from Newsday Newspaper.  I told them I was not interested in a liberal paper such as theirs.  However, they continue to call.

I keep receive calls from this number to my cellphone.  When I answer the call no one is on the other end.  When I  called the number back I no one anser the phone and I was told to leave a message.  I left a couple of messages asking them to stop calling me but they still do

Keep receiving numerous call for this number and others like it on my caller ID, don't know anyone from this area. Call back to see who called just get answering machine with no identification.

This number calls me DAILY! VERY ANNOYING!  and they persist in getting my gender wrong.

OIMG THE SAME THING happened to me yesterdaY! Repeating my nam, but confusing my gender.

And they are still at today. Got a call yesterday @ 8:54 am and again today @ 8:08 am. Annoying dumbasses.

Yes they are still at it.  I see the first post is from 2 years ago.  The electricity went  off in my house so the outgoing message is wiped off my answering machine.  They called at 8:30 AM and thinking I had picked up the phone, the man on the phone just kept repeating my name, asking if I was there.

i subscribed to newsday through this number.been getting charged every week.any advice?stopped payments with company.donot take phone subscriptions!!

It is A Marketing research for cable, newspapers.  They are annoying

I see the last post on this list is from about 6 months ago but wanted to let you all know they are still at it.  I have been getting calls from this number for about 2 weeks daily and havent answered.  Now I know not to.  I hope they will eventually stop.  I never subscribed to Newsday but live in Albany NY and subscribed to the local paper here.  I let the subscription run out about 2 months ago but kept getting papers until 2 weeks ago, when, perhaps coincidentally, the phone calls began.  I am assuming it is related but maybe it isnt.  It says Minnesota on the caller ID so it may be an outsource as suggested above.

whoever is calling calls everyday at various times.  it's now 4:17 and they just called a few minutes ago.  it comes up as "MINNESOTA" on our caller id.  we never answer because we assume it's a telemarketer, but one of these days i'll let you know if anything comes through because these people are crazy.  none of these companies get the drift when you answer and hang up on them, or flat out reject them by ignoring their calls.

I received this phone call.  For all you posters out there, this number is not from Newsday.  I used to work at Newsday & know that (1) this is not the area code for Melville and (2) they do not outsource these type of calls to MN.

Sure it's not Publisher's Clearing House?? I get the call too, but I owe them money (I returned something, but it hasn't reached them yet). They are in Minnesota.

im so thankful other people posted this...was getting the typical call at 9 am...didnt know what was going on....tried calling back but got something teling me to leave my info....Also this number belongs to A marketing resources or something just glad im not the only one

I was so relieved to see these posts! I've been getting the same calls to my cell every morning at 9:00 am and again in the afternoon. So strange that they hang up when you answer.

I received call from this number at 9:15am this morning. The above posts are extremely informative. I, too, once subscribed to "newsday" but cancelled after receiving extremely poor service.
If this number is linked to them, I think the Attorney General for New York should be contacted.In fact, I will email his office ASAP

They JUST called me again TWICE in less than 5 minutes.. I answered the second time- and they hung up on me again.. If this is a solicitor... they've got a dead beat working for them.. .hahaha.

Called twice today- Hung up on me when I answered the first time.. SERIOUSLY?
Then called back 10 minutes later. Called the number and it was a recording.
IF they call back- I'm giving them an EARFUL, particularly due to the fact that I JUST re- subscribed with the Pioneer Press last week.

Probably Long Island Newsday offering subscriptions.  Subscribed for the last 7 years and was smart enough give them a work # instead of home.  Recently cancelled for extremely poor delvery service and their SOP is to try constantly and get you back. In fact, I couldn't get them to accept a cancellation call and just stopped paying the bill.  No doubt its outsourced to St Paul.

Mine just calls every single day at around 9:30 am (Saturday and Sunday included). Everyone above says it's Newsday and the sad thing is, I already get Newsday delivered as my boyfriend (we live together) gets it but he also has his own phone number. I called the number and left a really nasty message. I think calling Andrew Cuomo's office may be in order here.

This number has called my home several times in last few days and when I answer there's no answer.  Caller ID comes back to local paper, Newsday.  When I called the number back you get recording that the number is no longer in service.

Repeated calls to cell phone (and new home phone that I literally just got a week ago) at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.  Glad to know this is a subscription bs call.
