My wife had the same call.  We were told that we had taken out a pay day loan about 4 years ago and if we didn't pay the 600 dollars today that it was going to the court and we would owe 1100.   But reading the posts above I'm glad we didn't take any action on it and I thought it was weird that this is the first we were hearing about it anyone that gets behind on bills knows that those people will call day and night two there times a day.  So please don't send money.  If they call again I am going to ask all the information and you can't provide I'm not paying.. i had the same thing happen to me yesterday and scared the bejesus out of me saying they were going to send a sheriff to my house with a warrant if i didn't pay the amount for a pay day loan i took out 3 years ago. i said i could make payments, but she said if i paid the amount owed from the debt i could pay the extra 1000 dollar charge in payments.  i called my lawyer and he said if no judgement has ever been served, i can't be arrested. she said i would be put in jail and have no bond to get bailed out and i could get a year in jail!...what happened to you ?

I received a call from the company today.  I called the toll free number they gave me (after leaving a message the that sheriff is coming to get me and my license would be revoked) and it stated it was in incorrect number.  I called the number that came up on my cell (678 681 9686) and Ms. Hollander immediately put me on hold.  I hung up and she called me back and did the same, then transferred me. asked them the name of the company (United Financial Mediation Group) and was told they handled White Collar Crimes!  They said it is for a Pay Day loan I supposedly  took out about 6 years ago and they said was check fraud.  I told them I was contacting the Attorney General and my Attorney and hung up.  They did not call me back.

These people call and won't give any information on their business and they refuse to send any information by mail. You're expected to just take their word for whatever nonsense they say. The most I was able to get was the name United Financial. However, all internet research came up empty. The only United Financial I could find was for a Credit Union. They are shady.

Anita Hallander called and left a vmail on my work phone. I called her back and let her know I had contacted the Attorney General's Office. I asked her for the name of the company she was calling on behalf of, a fax number, mailing address and her employee badger number. She quickly put me on hold and another guy Steve Baker was pretending like they have numerous employees in the office and was asking for a file for some warrant to be delivered. I kept saying hello but Steve pretending he was talking to someone in the office. I hung up and called back. Anita Hallander answered again with and put Steve Baker on the phone. He would not give me a fax number or employee badge number. All he asked are you going to pay, are you going to pay. I kept asking for a fax number and his employee badge number and he hung up on me. I called them back twice and both times they hung up. Do not give these people any info. If they were Honest they would give all company information up front without having to be asked for it.
