Got a call 4-30-14. No one on line. Called back - recording said line no longer in service. Researched online. SDDS Holdings is a co, out of Georgia that offers phone call center service to other businesses. My guess is that they r paid for each call made. How do u make a lot of calls?  Robo call and hang up. That way they have a log of the call and can charge their client for more calls.  Anyway, it's annoying especially since we r on the do not call list and get these kind of nonsense calls daily.

Called to verify yellow pages delivery. I can't think of a bigger waste of time - this is an antiquated item I neither asked for nor want. Next week they'll be calling about VCR delivery, the week after that, will want to know if I'm enjoying MySpace.

No voice message left, probably an annoying yellowbook spammer. I just bloked the number.

The do not call registry does not stop all calls. Visit the DNC registry website to see what it stops and what it doesn't stop.

Got a call from this number this morning.  Caller ID said "SDDS INC V".  Did not answer it.  Coincidentally, we received new Yellowbook phone books this week.

They are checking to see if someone threw a Yellowbook (a.k.a. trash) into your yard, usually late at night so you can't identify them. I've complained to the police but without a name or car description, they will not do anything.

They won't take your name off either the delivery list or the call list. They think they are exempt from the DNC list (they are not).

We had a small Yellowbook dropped off in our driveway yesterday, and this call came in today just before 5 p.m.  No message left.  (I can't remember the last time I looked up something in a phone book.  I haven't done it this century, anyway.)

More nuisance calls regarding alleged telephone book delivery.  Well, I haven't received any telephone directories since several months ago, so what are these people really up to?  The number for a persistent caller of this nature is programmed into our call blockers.  It is assumed that all improperly or incompletely identified numbers are from the increasing number of scams, frauds, tie-lines, etc.  This is why everyone must contact their elected reps in DC to demand that they significantly strengthen the DNC laws, providing extremely severe dollar and prison sentences for violators.  This is an opportunity for Congress to actually do something useful for the country, not just pass gas and throw spitballs at each other.  Any business must be properly identified on Caller Id, not hide behind Not Available, Private, Unavailable, etc.  It is time to ban any kind of solicitation call, whether charitable, political, survey, opinion poll, telemarketer debt collector or whatever.  You can be assured that funds donated or offered over the phone will mostly go into the pockets of the organizers, not to the charity, along with a $10 donation showing up as $100s in charges.  There must be a new scam and fraud being generated every second out there.  They all need to be locked up. We need call control, not gun control!

Received a call today at 9:23am.  I did not answer.  I do know that SDDS, Inc V  does call to confirm delivery of the DEX phone books, which we have just received a few days go.  They call every year to confirm delivery.  That is the only time you should hear from them.  

Stop Calling

Why is someone in Georgia calling someone in Wyoming?  And why are they sending out all these useless phone books to everyone, instead of just to those who request them?  Any phone book that arrives at this address goes straight into the trash - what a waste.

Received a call from them today (Nov 11, 2013), I answered and hung up since I don't know anyone from this area code.  Good call on my part now that I read this information.  

Called five times in 20 min.  Never leaves a message..
Never talks and if you tty to call them ...its unarthorized

Yea the do not call register is a joke anyone who wants to call does it anyway and then just hang up when you answer.

Called me at 9:48a. No one there. I did just receive phone books so that's probably it.

Received a call at 10:14 AM. Answering machine picked up the call. No message, nobody there.

I love 800notes.  Thank you all for reporting in.  I received the call this morning and didn't hear the phone ring.  No message was left, and I thought to myself [completely defeated] "Great, today's daily dnc violation or outright scam" because I get about one per day.  How refreshing to find out it seems to be legitimate.  I did have a phone book dropped off at my doorstep recently.  I'll happily answer and spend a couple of seconds confirming I got the book.  It takes a lot less time than reporting violators to FCC and FTC.  I don't mind receiving a phone book.  Probably because I was born back in the last century well before the internet was available and am used to phone books as I grew up with them.

I too received a call - Called the # back - no ringing no answer but did call the # that was listed in one of the posts & told them to STOP calling!!!  At least I could find someone with this call - So many have #s that when called back say they are no longer in service -

Only part of an automated message came through on my VOIP voicemail, and even what there was wasn't very clear, but I was able to make out:
"... [something]-oh [probably Yellow] Book new directory. Press 3 if you have not received..."
BTW, I am on Do Not Call registry, but get some anyway. First from this caller ID.

  Like many of the previous posts, I too received a call with no message left, on the nature of the call. This very well may be a legitimate call, in response to a Phone Book delivery, but at least state that in a message;
if the purpose of the call is to find out, if I received a book or not. I have not received any Phone Books lately, or seen any in the neighborhood.
  I suspect these people are either, ill prepared for the job at hand, or are just collecting workable phone numbers for sale to other scammers, or telemeters.
  Why would a Georgia company be calling some one in Massachusetts, about a phone book, when we have
local companies that do this?

Received a call at 12:56 pm from 678-730-6610, SDDS, Inc.  V. Was not available to answer phone. No VM left. From prior posts it appears it's a survey about receipt of phone books. Come to think of it I have received a couple of phone books recently.

They are calling to confirm your receipt of phone books/directory, and are not trying to sell you anything, therefore, this is not a violation of Do Not Call.
