Hi,
This scam seems to be alive and well. My wife got a very convincing call from PC Trackers today. They wanted to control the computer. They gave her this number when she asked for it: 661-453-1161.She knows to check with me on any such matters.

This is all weird... Read all of these posts. My call was a guy (also heavy accent), but he said he was with our phone company, AT&T and something about discounts on our long distance. We are a business and I told him I don't pay the bills and have no idea what he's talking about. He then repeated exactly what he said. I said I understood him but don't pay the bills. He sounded confused and said okay and I hung up on him

Just received a call from this number saying they are from Verizon. Very thick accent. Asked for our address and my name and when I asked why they needed this information they hung up.

POS with heavy Indian accent saying that since I pay my phone bill on time I get a new rate but that I need to fill out an application over the phone with him. Told him to FO and reported it to my phone carrier, maybe they can do something about it. Also reported to Do Not Call.

Our firm does not accept solicitation calls. Whoever called from this number didn't show any common courtesy: I answered the phone with the business name and asked how I could assist and the person loudly slammed the phone in my ear. Who has time for this? Legitimate callers will at least apologize for calling the wrong number.

This is what I like to read.
Don't go to that website!!!! 2013-08-01 19:37:42 Unknown
Don't give out their website!!!! as they can infect your computer just from going there. You don't have to click on anything, just go there and you are fkkd.

How do you set up selective call forwarding? I would absolutely love to do this with the phone stalker who has been harassing me for a year now.
DNC_me 2013-07-25 23:51:34 Unknown
if they were legitimate they'd leave a message and their company name would be displayed on the callerid.
So, rather than block their number, or deal with them directly, I decided to let their local police dept handle it.
e.g.: I set up 'selective call forwarding' so now when they call me, their call will automatically be forwarded to the Pataluma CA Police dept.

I also received a call by the same scam that claimed to represent "PC Trackers". The Caller ID Number was shown as 1-547-008-3006; however 547 is no longer a valid area code.

I received a call from a man with a the same heavy accent everyone else is experiencing. He told me my computer was downloading illegal information and he knew that because my IP address was reporting to their agency. This call was rather frightening and I said I would look into it and he could call me tomorrow. We will see what he says tomorrow but from all I am reading here this is a scary scam.

It has nothing to do with Microsoft! It's a scam alright, but from India....whereby they try to get access to your system and plant malware...then, by some miracle, they sell the only malware remover software that will "fix" your system! If they ever get onto your system, you'll get basically what someone with absolutely NO knowledge of computers will get....a big PROBLEM!
Threatening, cajoling, humoring, etc., will get you nowhere with these folks! When I did answer one time many months ago, I informed them that there is nothing wrong....and I don't need them. So far, so good; and the call is being spoofed as coming from Petaluma, CA; it isn't!

Scam calls from Windows 'affiliate' PC Trackers continue from this number in CA. Charles Smith explained how my PC was downloading illegal and malicious software. After my questions were met by some very odd answers I asked for a return number and promised to call back after doing some investigation. The number he gave was 855 383 2473 and that led to an answering machine representing PC Trackers and Enterprise Technology Services. There is even a web site http://www.enterprisetechnologyservices.net/pc-trackers/ and presumably a legitimate business which may well not be associated with the original caller. I pursued it no further.

I received a call from a man, yesterday, telling me my computer has had many errors in the past week. I told him it hasn't. He said that when we purchase a computer with Microsoft operating systems, his company does the tech work. I screamed: "Why are you in my computer? What company are you with?" He calmly told me he wasn't in my computer but "Personal Computers Tech" handles these problems for Microsoft. I told him to send me something in the mail. He asked me to take down a phone number. I said, "No. If you have my name and phone number, you must have my address." He read it to me to confirm it. I told him I had no more time for a phone conversation and hung up. It bothers me that he had all my information. Does he also have my computer address? Scary! I'm in Western New York.

I just got my call. Male with an accent. Knew my first name and called my home phone number. Said I had a problem with my windows computer and he was calling to help!,,,,, It sounded "scampish", if that's a word, to me so I told he I don't have a problem and have no idea what he is talking about. He hung up immediately.

Just got the call. This is the 3rd time I've received one of these windows scam calls. He said they are seeing problems coming from my computer. I asked him to prove it with my public IP address and he had no clue what it was. Then I told him I only have an iPad. He then disconnected the call.

Got call. Didn't pick up. No message.
Liz 2013-06-20 04:25:03 Unknown
I also had that same type of call several weeks ago. I told the non-English speaking man, I would never let anyone touch my computer. Also told him I strongly believed he was a fake, and I hung up !!
Liz 2013-06-20 04:21:46 Unknown
I have caller ID, received a call, but did not pick up the phone, as I do not know anyone at that number. After reading other's comments, I'm glad I didn't answer the phone.

Just received a call by person with this number . She knew my name and said something about my computer downloading unwanted items. I accused the woman of identity threat and told her I was reporting this number to the FBI. She immediately hung up.
