I called them on skype and nothing happend

It's from someone using skype in Newfoundland - I've tried it myself. If you have skype, call your cell phone and that's the number that will appear (if you're in NL). So you won't be able to tell whether it's a telemarketer or just a friend on skype calling you. (I usually don't answer my cell unless I recognize the number - they can always leave a message.)

I got a phishing call from this number today - someone claiming to be a microsoft-technician who wanted me to give them remote access to my computer.  It makes sense that the number would be a routing number because they definitely wouldn't be calling from a traceable line.

I have several (dozens) of calls from 709 753 3538 but when called back it says the number is not in service
Is there any way to block an incoming phone number to a landline?

We added our names in a "do not call list" about 1year ago, why are we receiving unwanted calls? They do leave message on answering machine! These calls are an annoyance! Is there a way aliant could screen out these?

I received the same call from 753-3538, concerning my computer service - I informed them I listen/watch news broadcasts! I told them I'm not interested in a scam!!

I got a call from this number, I have caller ID on my cell, I didn't answer. When I called back it said the number was not in service.

I just got call from this number, a lady said I am offering you a new cell phone absolutely free of cost and I don't have to pay anything.............but at the end she says that I have to buy a plan to use the cell phone..........LOL
how come it's a free cell phone?? It's a scam guys don't give your personal information

This crap with the 709-753-3538 number is still going on...at least since 2008 and this is 2011. I called BellAliant and they couldn't tell me anything...or wouldn't. It is a St. John's, NL, phone # that is unlisted, yet out of service if you call it... obviously a telemarketer or a trunk number where they forward long distance calls. One of my phones is also 753-XXXX, a very common phone # here in St. John's. The only thing Bell told me to do was to register with the National *^%#@^* to have your name taken off the Telemarketing list...and what happened before??? The Telemarketers got their hands on that list and then they had both the phone #'s and the corresponding names of anyone silly enough to have put their name on the list, LOL. You tell me if someone is not getting their greedy hands crossed with silver...

we got a call from this # i tryied to return the call but it said out of service, we did get a call from this # before asking for a Mrs so& so, with the same surname that our phone is listed under,when i said there was no Mrs living here, they hung up, i tried calling back, but it said out of service,we figured they may have been calling to see if anybody was home....

Its a fraud attempt to scam your personal info... Dont give them any personal information.

this is a NFLD number, a landline and it must be a telemarketer because it called me and my sister, at the same time of day on the same day and we have the same first initial and last name

keep getting hang-ups from this number but when i call back it says number is not in service

I just had a call from this number and it was a friend of mine. she hung up the first two times but when she called again I talked to her. She is from China and does not speak english very well so I think that's why she hung up before. I don't think it's her own number though, it might be a friend's. But all her friends are chinese so they probably just hang up if they get the wrong person or cannot understand what is being said.

It seems to be a long distance routing number. I have gotten this number when my Mother calls long distance from the U.S. and when my boyfriend has called from The Netherlands.

This is a St John's, Newfoundland, Canada number. I got called while I was in the shower and now its not in service.

This number appears when people call you long distance or by pay phone, also Bell Canada uses it sometimes when calling customers through an automated system.

I had a women call and ask for my husband by name on this number. when he returned the call it said not in service

This number appears when people are calling you long distance and it gets routed through St. John's, Newfoundland. It may or may NOT be a telemarketer; it was in fact an expected call for me.

this guy called, for my daughter and when I said she was out got really ignorant and wanted to know when exactly she would be home repeatedly. I called back and the # is not in service a bell operator says this happens when companies can only do outgoing calls such as collections,sales etc.

I live in St John's, NL and that number pops up from time to time whether it is long distance or local. It's usually people I know calling from their home... it's weird

I believe it is a St. John's, Newfoundland number calling from the Canadian Blood Services....

i received an "unknown number" call, so i answered and it said I was getting a collect call, i couldn't understand the name that was said so i responded no, but I was connected to the call anyway. I have recently moved from Newfoundland to Sudbury, ON, and still have my newfoundland number so it would have cost me a lot to answer the call so i disconnected it. About 2 minutes after hanging up, 709753353 called me, with the same message about a collect call with the same name I couldnt understand so I just hung up. ...weird!

Just got a call from this number. They didnt answer first but then something cut in saying your daughter came over to me house today and kicked my dog. I then hung up..I dont have a daughter.. and iv herd this prank phone call before on yourtube and I guess they used it on me. As I said I hung up knowing it was bull and they called back a minute later. I didnt answer.

I just got he same phone call and I told him he was full of s*** and hung up on him. I called the number back and it said that it was not in service.

This number called me tonight and said that he was from windows support center. He said that they are getting messages of a fault on my computer. I asked him to tell me witch operating system I had, and he got it wrong.

I think it was a scam

Called after 9:00 pm and stated they were giving me 5% off my credit card rate.  However, they didn't know my financial institution, the current rate, what sort of balance I carried, etc.  Kept waiting for me to tell them stuff.  Told them to send it in the mail.
