Basically same story, but I didn't let caller get as far.  Received 2 calls.  After 2nd call, which came minutes after I hung up on the first, I warned the caller that I was filing two complaints with the DNC register (1 for each call - which I did), that I would consider a third call harassment and would report the number to the phone company and have it blocked, and that the caller "[had] been warned."

Got a call from these people.  They said I filled out some card (I never fill these things out) and that I had won a 32" HDTV, $2500 in cash, a trip to Orlando, or a Lincoln Navigator.  They wanted me to drive to Waldorf, MD (about 25 minutes away) and scratch off some card to claim my prize.  I asked him to just mail me the $2500 but that didn't go over so well so I asked to be on their do not call list instead.

I get a similar call on Sunday at around 8:00 PM.
I told him to get to the point without beating around the bush.
As my tone was a bit higher, he said, "Do not yell on me."
I said, I did not call you, you called me. If you don't want to be yelled at, why do you call?
He used some curse word and hung up!

I am in a no call list too. If I get another call again, I will have to take some action.

The number for any Washingtonian to call is 1-877-558-13**. I don't want to give it out because they are paying for my hotel & airfare. I won the package. I am responsible for applicable fees, taxes, and tips. There is no catch. I entered a contest with PCH (Publisher's Clearing House).

I am an employee for a nonprofit organization and my office is in a church in SW Washington DC on South Capitol St. If anyone has ever heard of PCH Search or PCH.com or INBOX Dollars.com or Publisher's Clearing House, this is where the company offering the free trip has gotten your information from. Everybody doesn't get this package who fills out the entry form as there are millions of people entering. I have been to a Wyndham Resorts presentation which lasted a 1&1/2 hours and at the end they tried to sell the timeshare to all attendees. However, if you said no like 99% of the people did they gave us a free stay for 4-5 nights in any of their resorts which are all over the world. Catch: $100 deposit and we were responsible for our own airfare. It was not a scam. Many people including myself took advantage of the offer. E.g: Hotels.com will give u a room for $89 while ur neighbor in the same hotel with the same room is paying $289. Why is that? C'mon ppl grow up financially grow up in the marketing world. It's all about advertising. Hotels.com buys a block of rooms guaranteed whether someone stays in them or not. But believe me, someone is going to book a room easily with them especially if they're getting 60%-70% off. Duh. This company at

901 31st St. NW
Washington, DC

is going to get a visit from me. Then I will be back to set the pessimists and skeptics straight.

Thanks,

Yonas

I said I would hold up a picture of Ben Franklin on U.S. currency for my I. D. and he said nothing.
I hung up and he called back to provide the profanity in about 10 Seconds.

Got that call tonight to go to:
Global Network
320 N. Rt 31
Crystal Lake, IL

I appriciate the comments here.  Sounded like a scam.  I'm tempted to go and sit in the parking lot and tell everyone who pulls up what a scam it is.  They really don't want me in the door as I will qu*** the whole night for them.  Done it before when I lived in Norfolk.  Freaking scumbags need to be shot...
Glad I looked up the phone number

Same prize offerings - TV, Orlando, $2500, Lincoln.  First person said the company was "United Network" but the second person said it was "Dream Networks" and said it is a new company selling vacation packages.  When looked up online, the first is an organ donation network and the second is a web service.  And clearly other people have been told other company names.  The two men told me their names, but both names they gave are singers in american bands... probably not a coincidence.  Like another person before me, I was also called back when I said I never filled out a card, said no thank you, and hung up.  Like another person before me, I was also told they would mark me down as single so I could claim prize by myself.  And like another person before me, I was also told they could not send me a photocopy of the supposed card I filled out at Walmart (but I haven't shopped at Walmart in years).  I suspect they get information from property tax records and then figure out the phone number.  I was pressured to set an appointment within the next couple days.  I was never given the "confirmation code" they said I needed.

I cannot believe in an educated country like the United Stated, such kind of cheaters and deceivers exist!

Hey people wake up, who would give you free stuff? You think they are so kind to you without even knowing you? TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

Such kind of dishonesty, and intrusion must be discouraged, penalized.

Let's act as citizens. We have a right to our privacy. No body should be calling us unless we want to.

PLEASE do not waste your time!
First, the supposed 'time share' like deal you get is WORTHLESS. There is never any availability when & how you want it. It is generally 'peak' season (in places like Hawaii, all year).

Also, the 'free' that they are bribing you with is anything but free. The tell EVERYONE they've won one of 4 prizez, except that the only one they want to give you is the free travel'

Here is how "free" the travel the I WON turned out to be:
3-Day cruise to the Bahamas:
Their FREE cost: $452 in the Main cabin for 2
On Expedia for the same cruise: $144 per person!!!
Initial fee: $140 PER PERSON

Second Level of Fees PER PERSON:
Courier Fee: $20
Processing Fee: $30
Surcharge-Cruise: $66
Fuel Surcharge: $56

Then they try to sell you their 'membership' It costs $7000!!!! If you think that is too much for you to afford, no problem. They will give you a loan for $164 a mont. Only problem is that the loan is at 19.99% Interest.

PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED. YOU ARE BEING SCREWED ON EVERY LEVEL!!!

They called a couple of days ago from 305-836-7371 (said they were "Global Travel") and told me the same as everyone else except that they weren't trying to sell me anything.  They wanted me to go to Crystal Lake, Illinois on Rt 31 and listen to their speech and provide feedback on their product and then I would get a scratch off card and win one of those prizes.  Too good to be true.  Wanted me to bring my husband and I told them that he's not available so they said they'd change my status to single and I could still go!  I still told them no, so they told me to share them number with a friend and to have a friend call in as me... Now they called again tonight - different phone number - when I answered they didn't say anything so I came here to do a search on the latest number.

Although the call originated from a local number, it came up on caller ID as "INTL. NUMBER", and the call back number after talking with the manager was 716-408-0859.  The place to go to pick up our prize was the Shermer location in Northbook, in a white building behind a gas station.  Really classy!  The caller identified his organization as United Network, with Holiday Inn, American Airlines, and Lincoln as their corporate sponsors.  His explanation for why these companies would want to give away a TV, $2500, a trip to Orlando or a new Navigator was so that I would buy more of their products and tell my friends and neighbors how great my prize is.  How gullible do they think people are?  This is way over the top!!!

I got the same call as all these people; they have been calling my home for several days; I finally answered thinking it could be someone important and they got me. I got up to the part where the "manager" gave me his # and ext. I do not plan to go because it has to be a scam.

I received a call where the initial speaker mentioned winning one of four prizes (high def TV, $2500, Orlando trip, Navigator SUV).  He already had my address, marital status, age bracket, and income bracket.  He claimed our information was from a contest entry "coupon".  I was then forwarded to a second speaker who gave the following information.

Replies from Sandy & John seems to be bogus. If you read carefully these 2 replies they seem to be somewhat idnetical and are from same person, probably working for IAC. Similar gramatical mistakes, all lower case sentenses, similar usage of punctuations etc..I too got same call and I don't remember anything filling up like that. Intersting part is they have full info of my address, marital status, ph number etc...

They told me the same piece of  as Paul. They said I filled out some card (I never filled  anything out) and that I had won a 32" HDTV, $2500 in cash, a trip to Orlando for 6days and 5nights, or a bumper prize- Lincoln Navigator.  They wanted me to drive to (5177 Richmond ave. suite no.110, Houston, TX) and scratch off some card to claim my prize.  I asked him to just fax me the        copy of the card they said I've filled. They told me they can't so I told them not to call us otherwise I'll sue them.

Sorry, I thought the reply went to just the last person. I got the same call tonight and I knew it was bogas - crap right away. He had my name and address, problum is we don't use our street address ever, no mail box! we use a P.O. box. I don't fill out cards ever and hubby does not ever shop, except maybe lowes or home depot & gas. And he would never take the time to fill something out! I can tell you they don't get our name and number from any store or credit cards or bank cards, cause if they did they would have had my P.o. box. It has to be random from the phone book, tax records, something that does not

I asked the guy I was on the phone with about it and he asked me if I had shopped at walmart around Christmas time.  I am sure I had but I don't know how they got my information.  I was reading online and I guess walmart has the ability to store your credit card info and pin number for debit transactions so who knows what they can get from that.  The company that calls is called "NGC" but the employee I was speaking to didn't know what that stood for.  I am still researching and am debating whether to go to my appointment on friday.  This just seems fishy.
