They are now using the name EQUIFAX and an female voice with an english accent and have been subjecting me to illegal calls in the State of Michigan.

It's NCO Financials looking to collect a debt. Somehow they are able to show Equifax on their caller ids.

I got a letter from these clowns citing a debt that is way past the statute of limitations.  I've also received literally fifty or sixty calls from someone who shows up on my caller ID as --- --- ----.  Same people?  I called and was told that they don't even have my phone number on file, even though I toldthe operator I'd gotten a letter from NCO.   Before I opened the letter, my cat had peed on it (smelly proposition getting it open).  I think the cat had it right.

yes they will leave a recorded message.NCO has left them on my phone wanting me to call them back.I don't know why cause I have paid the bills that i have got in the mail from them.

Got message on machine to call NCO Financial Systems and ask for Mrs Roberts.  I do not have any outstanding debts.  Today got call from out of area and not available, unfortunately I picked up phone, same company different number.  hung up, shortly thereafter got a call from a person who asked for someone that doesn't live here.  They asked did I know how to get in touch with them, told them no and I got "ok, whatever".  Numbers used were 1-800-477-1827 and 1-866-839-7277

this is the umpteenth time these idiots have called my number. they are looking for my mother who died 3 years ago! What part of dead do they not understand? they want my mother, i want her more! please stop calling! How is a person suppose to end the griefing process when these dills insist on calling every other day?

I keep receiving calls to call and number that are unidentified and I always hung up the phone until I realized there was a place to report these calls.  Today I received the call again and listened to get the #800-477-1827.

Any legitamate company would identify themselves.  How do I stop this?

calling one of my cell phones, no person on the other end. Called the number and it said NCO Financial services. They actually called 2x

i keep receiving calls from NCO Financial about a debt that has been paid off since DEc of last year.  Although I've told them since Jan this debt is paid and even faxed them a copy of a release letter in April showing the debt is satisfied, they still continue to call me.  Am I able to sue for harassment?

I have also received numerous calls from "Unavailable" with a recording asking me to return the call to 1-800-477-1827.  I did not call the number back as it is suspicious but I did do a Google search.  Reports are that it is a debt collector but that is weird because I don't have any debt.  This type of harassment should be illegal!!!

I called the number back. It "is" a collection agency. Apparently a deadbeat gave a creditor my phone number and nco called me. I spoke with keena at nco who was pleasant. I requested that my number be removed. She advised it would be.

I had a call from this number.  When I answered, I got a recording asking me to call them at the same number.   I did not return it, as I thought it was suspicious.

I've received the same call at home. I am a law enforcement officer. Write down the last time they called you, date, time, caller I.D. display, and what the prerecorded message was. Then call them back and ask to be removed from their calling list and state that you do not wish to receive any more calls from them or you will file a criminal complaint (be respectful doing this). If they continue to call after you have done this, it is then most likely in violation of the law (depending on the state you live in). Then call your local police department and give them all the information. Remember, take plenty of notes. Your Police Department will do the initial complaint and then mostly likely forward the case to the State Agency that deals with consumer protection. Remember to be patient through this entire process. The more that everybody follows this procedure, the more something can be done about unwanted calls. We have been getting calls from this debt collection agency for a month at least. At first we called them back, sent a letter which was to be forwarded to the debt holder ( a home alarm system company ) and NCO said they would not call again. Hah! Now they are calling every day. I am concerned because my husband's name was on a computer tape stolen from a state employee last year. I'm calling the Attorney General's office

I get this call on my cell phone at least once a week. It used to be a static filled call with a request to call back with regard to a debt collection. Now they have the same request except they've gone from static to a clear recorded voice with a woman's English accent - I don't have any debt so I know it's BS.

I saved the number on my cell phone and put 'Ignore' for the name so that when the call, my called ID on my cell phone says 'Ignore' and I send it to voicemail.

They've been doing this for several months - don't pick it up, just ignore it. It's a scam.

We have received calls from this number to call Mrs. Roberts for quite a long time. Since we had no outstanding debts, we chose to ignore the calls. After reading this log I decided to call them when I received the next call. I came today, June 3, 2011 so I called back, I got a recording for about 20 seconds and then a lady came on. I told her I was returning their call and she asked the number that they had called. I gave her the number & she told me a person with the same last name as mine but not anyone that lived or had ever lived at my number. She said she would remove us, we'll see but I will continue to call them back and ask to remove us when they call again. Good luck everyone.

Just got a call from that number...left a VM...however did not ask for a specific person...and don't identify what debt they are trying to collect therefore, I will not be calling them back.

this bunch will make u go nuts.They have little regard of the law...and the part that really sucks is they can screw up your credit and it takes a lotta money to fight them

If you call on my phone identify the debt you are trying to collect.  I am so irritated that everytime I answer this call they tell me to hold on the line for a very important message.  How do I block them from calling my cell phone?  This call must go through a rotation because I received it 4-5 times a day.

There are a few phone numbers that they use. This site has great information so you can stop this crap and may be you can get money from them. These people are NOT GOOD! OR Google NCO Financials System.

The other phone number they use is 1-877-273-3495 which I just blocked. AT&T has a Smart Limit program you can get that allows you to block up to 15 phone numbers. It is used mostly for kid. I blocked that number and now they are calling me from #800-477-1827. I too have no debt. Everyone needs to contact the FCC and file on them. I did.

Received a message to call back, when I did they tried to get all kinds of updated information on me.  I asked what it was in regards to, they said to collect a debt from XXX company.  I asked when the last payment was made, and they couldn't tell me.  I told them this debt was over 9 years old, past the statute of limitations and to stop calling me.  The woman said I still owed the debt and they would keep calling, and to have a nice day.  I told her I would report them to the correct authorities for harassment, and she said "go ahead and do that.  Have a great day."

I keep getting daily calls from this number.   Its a very poor quality recording with lots of static.   I have no outstanding debt so I do not call back.  Sounds fishy to me!
