Who is this they are leaving messages at work about check fraud

My sister got a call an hour ago and was panicky.  When I researched it, I found this site.  The next time someone calls with messages like these, ask them for their tax payer ID # - all businesses conducted in the US have them and are used to report to the IRS.  If they can't give you the information then it's a scam.  Report it to your local authorities with the number and check your bank accounts.  If they have your work, cell or home phone numbers, they may be just verifying your place of employment, address, etc to try to steal your identity or worse, your hard earned $$$$.  Always check your credit report on an annual basis and even put a freeze on it if you have to (unless you're applying for a mortgage or loan). Never, ever give out any information.  Above all else, never panic!  Research before you even think about calling that number.  Who knows what type of tracking system they have....

I called the number of 1800-642-1084 back after missing the call.I just got a call from these people saying that they have my name related to a case in their office. When I called the number after calling the number back they asked for a case number which they never left with me...if they call back i am going to keep ignoring the call. This is the first call that I have gotten from them.Who are these idiots?

I got a terrible threatening call from the number today, said they would be going to the DA, would not give me any specific info. It really unnerved me.

yeah the same thing has happened to me. They are calling both cell and work... I looked them up through the better business bureau and it is a scam. I agree with both Benny and ryan. Its ridiculous. how can you get them to stop calling...

I called back...and my situation was the same as Benny's.  After I said I would like to have the documents sent to me with all information regarding when the money was deposited, and what the "on-line" company name that I dealt with he quickly tried to switch the subject, and said that he was not a liberty to say, but any company that has a legal complaint would have to supply all this information to the courts...so why not over the phone....I will wait to see what is sent to me in the mail...and then will call the original company to see if they turned it over

I recieved a call from this number at work. I called the number back later from my cell.
I got a recording that this was a law firm and to leave a message. I did not...I just hung up.
The next day I got a cll on my cell phone telling me fraud charges were being filed against
me by some loan compnay with the DA's office. They had my bank name , SS security #
and address. He said they were mediating the claim before going through with the charges.
I asked for details and he got beligerent. I told him I was reporting him to the FTC( Federal Trade
Commission ) and he said finr and hung up.

I got a message. I don't think this is ligit.  I would love to know if anyone has followed up on this or if they continued to make calls harassasing them. I calle dthe Number is it said it was a law office of Marsello and Camerio Investigative Serivces.  They wanted a my full name and SS# and case number....I left a message but only with name and phone number....

same thing happened to me there is absolutely no info on this company whatsoever.. have any of you guys paid money to these people?

they called me yesterday and left a voicemail saying that I have a check violation and that they were going to file charges against me

today must be their day they just called me to talking about some bull....ignore ignore SCAMS...
