Unauthorized call to a restricted number - criminal complaint pending

Get several calls a week from this company, whom I believe the caller says is UIS.  They repeatedly call the main line number of the company I work for looking for one of our employees.  And I'm the one that has to drop whatever I'm doing to answer the phone and get rather annoyed when the call repeatedly.

I asked the guy who called just a little while ago what his name was, and what the company name was.  After he told me, I told him that the employee could not receive personal calls at work, and he then said "Then why did you ask me, b***h".

Rude, and disrespectful.  And the call wasn't even for me.

Received this call indicating if I knew anything about my neighbor and stated their name.  I informed them that I wouldn't give them any information.  Then they tried to play the psychological game that there was urgent information for my neighbor and that they needed information.  I then asked where they were calling from.  They indicated it was a financial institution in Houston TX.  Needless to say I refused to give them info. IDIOTS!

The sad part of these morons how many fall into their traps.

800.658.2192 calls this public school asking for employees. When told employees are in classrooms and cannot take calls they either hang up or are very rude wanting information or messages left. I refuse to take messages and tell them they cannot call here. Calls continue several times a day.

They said "Sir, is this John Laughlin? John (correct middle name is used) Laughlin at 12217....(correct address using apt #, also correct?" Yes I responded, How did you get my mid--"Sir, we have a missing persons report and your name came up. You can choose not to respond but you will lose your right...I butted in. Who gave you my middle name? Are you a dumpster diver. I figured it was a practical joke from one of my redneck neighours who has nothing better to do with his time. My guess is these people have ties-ins with law inforcement. They finally asked "you know the name Brittney Molen?" No, who gave you my na--CLICK.

Keep calling, doesn't leave a message, hangs up when I answer

Called, showed up as the number (not unavailable) on called id, recorded voice said {please stay on the line for an important message}  so I stayed on the line, and after about 20 seconds, the call was disc. and it went to dial tone.

On the caller Id it said "toll free" before the number

Call Cellphone and leave no message one time. Will call again and leave a recorded message....If you are Joe Schmo..Press 1 if you are not Press 2.

United Recovery Systems is a scumbag debt collection agency.  You can easily find out this nasty outfit by searching for them on the internet.  Don't waste your time with them, you can not trust anything they say.  Here are known numbers to block/ignore.

Folks URS is nothing but crooks. They don't care about your rights as evidenced by the 34 lawsuits filed since August of last year for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Shoot they even paid $240,000 in fines back in 2005 for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

The only way you will get them to stop is likely by filing a lawsuit against them for the violations.

I am about to send them a cease and desist letter if they continue to call me after that then I will file a lawsuit against them.

Received a call from this number on 4-6-09 at 5:04pm -- this is a new number, not even 1 week old. No message is left. Thank you to the above people for the information about this number being URS. I filed a complaint with the national do not call registry.

to call at 9pm from a debt collection agency is weird.  Then add that I never get any "wrong number calls" even more strange... they askedd for Jimmy, not a first and last name, which is common practice for a collection agency.

called 3x this august 2008. No message.

They call and either no one picks up the line or you get an automated message....If you are (name) press 1...If you are not (name) press 2...either selection just gets you disconnected.

This is United Recovery out of Houston, TX
They have about 100 telephone numbers.  It is a legitimate collection agency and a very aggressive one at that.

Sounds like URS again, they started calling me yesterday, rotating numbers with each call, got this number this morning, plus the tactics sound the same as URS...

They keep calling for a Robert. There is no Robert I told them. So they still keep calling here constantly. Then they ask me who I am.....I tell them I am Dan Shivley and I am not Robert and i do not know any Roberts. They still call me everyday and harass me for a Robert.

I am on the Do Not Call list.  They keep calling and never leave a message, I don't answer their call, wish they would quit calling.  What can we do about them.

REC'D CALL ON 7/31/07 1:20PM ON THE CELL PHONE AND NO MSG HAD BEEN LEFT.

Used to call about a year ago asking for someone I didn't know. They called alot....very persistant. Called them repeatedly to get them to leave me alone. They finally did and now it has started again. Left them a message to stop calling my number and to mail me a copy of their Do Not Call Rules. Hoping this will stop them.  What can be done to stop them from harassing everyone?
