Just received a call from a vacation home rental service. Why would I use this when I can use homeaway or airbnb right? Two calls this week alone since I setup a new landline the other being a website designer named adam with a robo caller: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-520-275-5192  why is it that landlines have higher telemarketing calls than not?

it IS a scam. Your victims will never be able to schedule this imaginary "vacation", but they'll sure get to pay for it over and over. Classic, old, tired scam. It's amazing you can still find victims ... sites like this are obviously making it tough for you, huh?

Its not a scam but you do have to pay the fees and port taxes. They let you upgrade to an all inclusive package for $69 per night per person. I calculated all the fees for 2 people for 7 days and 6 nights night. It roughly came to $1400... Its about the same you would pay anyways but the hotel and cruise line are only 3 stars

Got the call saying I had entered a contest at a car wash that I did not go to in a city I had not visited in 10 months.  Don't believe it is in anyway real or legitimate.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!

This is a big scam. Someone called me from 813-982-3282 and told me I won a trip to Bahamas. They said that I would have to pay two booking fee, two administration fee, port fees and taxes. They claim that before they can send out any information I would have to pay upfront one of the administration fee which was $69.00. I calculated all of the fee I would have to pay and its better to book a cruise yourself than to accept the "free trip to Bahamas". At the end you'll pay less money$$$$$$ if you book a cruise on your own.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS

The girl who called claimed I won a vacation for filling out a survey (which I never do) She said her name was Sonnie Ingram from 5th Avenue Vacations & I'd have to call her Manager at (813) 982-3282 Ext 811, & listen to a recording with further instructions on how to claim my Bahama Vacation.
Scam! I'm just very concerned with how they managed to get my address, full name & cell phone!

Got a call about a free trip.
It would cost about 100 bucks for two people to go on a free cruise. Once you accept it, they say that the port fee for the country is 150 bucks. Now it's 250 per person.

For the same price you could go on a real cruise from a real cruise ship.

Definitely a scam!!!  My girlfriend and I did fill out a form at a pizza restaurant in Pensacola while on vacation.
I received a call from a Florida number and let it go to voicemail.  As soon as I listened to it, I knew it was a scam.  First suspicion was they said we were at "The Fun Store," which we were not.  To reassure my suspicion my girlfriend received a call from the exact same number.  Testing my theory she let it go to voicemail and it was the exact same recording, minus different names, with the exact same confirmation number.  I also received the exact same recording on my work phone.
SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Received the call and was told it had nothing to do with timeshare. I will not do business with a firm that does not have a street address and some times that turns out to be a scam also.  Thank you Google.

BBB has received a pattern of complaints from consumers alleging that the business represented to them that they won a free vacation, but found out that they had to pay the business fees to take the vacation.

If you google this company, you will see they have a C- BBB rating and are not a member of the BBB.  They called me yesterday; don't fall for it.

We got the call today.... We had actually resistered while on vacation and they we able to tell me where I had put my name in and everything. I talked to 3 different people because I was trying to figure out if it was a scam or not... So far it seem legit.... there is a 69$ booking fee, 29 administration fee (which is us paying the company that did the draw) and then you pay taxes on the boat and the motel.... less than 500$ in the end for two people... A lot cheaper than it would be to buy this trip on your own. I am stilll looking into it but it seems to be a good deal. They do not ask you for your credit card. To make the payments mentioned above there are many different ways of paying and you can cancel within 30 days.... We will see what else I can find before I actually call them back to accept the offer... Hope it's good news in the end.

my boyfriend is much older than and fortunate for him he has been on plenty off these "bogas" trips. In actually you most likely will have to pay something like 50 bucks plus the fee for leaving the country which is somewhere in the hundreds. Many think this of the catch but in actuality you would have to pay that same amount to leave the country even without winning the contest. In all it's not really a scam

My husband Adam and I were looking into this and we found that most of these cruises and trips to the bahamas for free tend to be a scam. The last Adam - Meyer family vacation we took to the bahamas cost a lot more than the 69.99 administration fee and 29.99 that they are asking. In a case like this if it sounds like its too cheap for a 5 star cruise to the islands than I wouldn't indulge. Also the 813-982-3282 is supposed to be in Tampa Bay, Florida or within that region but the caller wouldn't tell my Husband Adam nor I where in Florida they were located. Did anybody else have this issue?

I got a call today from the same number. My boyfriend and I entered our names at a hungry howies like the girl said. She also gave me a number to call back with an ext for a prerecorded message from the "manager" and then i spoke to a second girl. I was told I had to pay 69.99 for administrative fee and 29.99 for booking fees. per each person. I was told I had until the next wednesday to do so. When I started asking questions they had all the answers. Yet they say they use the discovery cruise line, and when I looked it up. It is not in operation anymore. Im just unsure about the whole whether it is a scam or not? Has anyone taken the risk to see if it is or not?

hmmm i went to a quaker steak and lube on Feb 14th and recieved the call Feb 22nd, and put an entry in, yet it said we are not a time share no hidden fees, free for me and a friend for 4 days 3 nights. the lady stated i won, congrats and told me her manager only picks a few entries from each box and told me to call 813-982-3282 ext 711 to listen to the pre-recorded voicemail her manager left me... which is odd in itself and she gave me a claim number, those numbers are local numbers for me its just phishy. she also mentioned that i have to take the vacation within 18 months... you can tell she was reading from a script, she had no emphasism in her voice
