How do I stop these people, they pretend to be someone diffent everyday with a new number, harassing people at work and my family and friends. When I say harassing at least 6 to 7 times, one time about 15 times, i finally turned off my cell phone, but they still call at work, I have filed a complaint, I am so tired and fed up. Any suggestions.

Send them a cease and desist letter. Debt collectors, under federal law, cannot contact your place of business - they can be fined for doing so. Whether that actually happens, who knows. But keep a record of all the times they call you and look online for a debt collector cease and desist letter. It directs them to only contact you in writing. If they call your phone or your place of employment, said fines will be imposed.

They just called my job and spoke with my boss!  Luckily she's cools so it didn't go anywhere, but who are these guys I tried calling back and that got me no where, so I asked them not to call me.  I told him that I couldn't really get calls at work and gave him my home number.

The guy just kept saying pay your bills...how do I get their address so that I can send them a leave me the f' alone letter.  "John" wouldn't give it to me.

They have called me everyday for the last 2 weeks or so, I don't answer numbers I don't recognize- they never leave messages.  Using the reverse phone lookup comes back saying its from Panama City, Florida but the number is unpublished.

All of my past debts are paid off in full- so i don't know why they would be contacting me.

Oh, come on.   These are true bottom feeders, but they have a job to do.

What that job is is really not certain.  I spoke to them and told them I am unemployed, and not collecting unemployment.  The crazy woman (nice term) asked which relative or friend could give me the money.

That, in itself, makes me wonder if they are legit!

I assigned a silent ring-tone to them so I never know they called anymore.  Yes, all of the numbers they use to call me.  No one is ever there, and no message is ever left.

Curious though, if they are a business that contacts people, why have we never spoken?

Oh well, a butt wiper is still just a butt wiper!!

Missed phone call. No message left. I called company back. Began with option for Spanish. Next recording asked if I had been served with legal documents for court regarding a debt. Hung up the phone. Do not have time for these calls but do have time to make a note about it here. I like this site. I have a good credit score. Some past debt that have been settled/paid however those were settled approx 10 years ago. Either way it would be past statute of limitations. Still receive the now & then calls from scumbags like these. People should pay their debt, no doubt. But if they don't... it does not justify being harrassed by creditors and threatened with law suits.
