No one else reading this page can ''stop these people'' on your behalf. It's your job to defend your rights and file proper complaints when dirty debt collectors call. This fraud shop is said to be (unsurprisingly) in the Buffalo region, which means it has an address which can accept cease-communication notices and process service.

Within 5 minutes these people called me, my daughter in college, and my sister who lives out of state.  Someone has gotten my information from somewhere.  Yes, I have had payday loans in the past.  Stop these people!

Debt Collector
I have received calls from this number and others.  First they identified themselves as CDR the next time it was WDR. When I asked if they were a law firm the man (Mannie Lopez ?Sp) said yes, when I asked if he was an attorney he said no just a legal aid.  He then proceeded to tell me that they are about to submit papers to a court here against me for fraud because I did not pay back a payday loan. Hmmmm wth??? I politely told Mr. Lopez that I have the information I need and that my attorney will be contacting him shortly. These people are frauds.  They have no connection with anyone except themselves. There is a website you can turn to when these vultures start to circle.  The website is called creditlaw.com they will help you to get these guys off your phone.

No one calls ahead of time to say you're going to be served a court summons - the process server just shows up.  Your caller is most likely a scammer trying to scare you (as well as other people) into paying a bogus debt or one that's already been paid off.  Per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this DV letter within five days of their first call to you is a violation of federal law (the FDCPA).  Please do report your caller to the FTC, FCC and your state's Attorney General.  More info here:

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

These are low life scammers.  Most calls will come out of india.  they will threaten legal action and even arrest to scare people into paying a settlement (extortion money).   If they call back again,  tell them that you are aware of the scam and that you will be notifying the authorities.   Then hang up and don't answer their calls again...

I keep getting calls from both numbers 954-417-3225 and 855-278-7085 telling me they are filing legal action against me. they have information and it is about some loan that I never took out.  The last call came from a woman and she told me good luck they are coming for me.  I have saved all the calls and phone numbers and have filed a complaint with the Attorney general office in the state of Pennsylvania.

We got a call at my mother in laws house, saying that (THE STATE FEDERAL LAW ) was looking for me... that I had to call back asap to this number 954-417-3225 or 554-417-3618. They told my mother in law that this was my last chance to fix this , ( what is "this" I don't know) same story as down below when I called back nothing but call back later or tomorrow  I don't know what this company is trying to do. I also don't know who to report this number to so the can be looked into for reporting false information.

Had a message left at my home that there was fraud being committed with my social security and I should contact them at this number so that they could forward me some papers.   I was to talk to Amy Valardo (sp?).   I called the number and was told she's not in and to call back and leave message. When I asked where I was calling, they identified the place as DSW & Associates.   I did not bother calling back.   A week later, I receive a call and had a message that I was not being cooperative in responding.   Now they want to take action by serving me papers either at my home or workplace.  I was told that I had to contact the plaintiff involved at the number of (954) 417-3225 since I did not respond.  They do not identify themselves with any affiliation to an official agency and STRONGLY feel that is a TOTAL FRAUD.   I did call back and left message to be contacted.   I will now take action on my own with any recourse at my disposition.   These people need to stop with these scams and ripping people off.  Disgusting!!!!!!!!!
