They say they are ATT and want to offer me a discount on my phone bill.  I said "Fine" just put the discount on my bill. They insisted on recording a "confirmation" of my accepting the discount. I hung up.

This is the contact number for Protocall Communications. Protocall is contracted by various companies to call on their behalf to renew service agreements, solicit new accounts with existing customers, and to provide lead generation. Most companies (including AT&T, Verizon, etc) don't do this stuff in-house- it's cheaper to outsource it. If you receive a call from them it is because the company which contracted them believes you have had a valid business relationship with them in the past, or are a current customer. The nationwide Do Not Call registry does NOT protect you from such calls. If you wish to be removed from their calling lists please request to be put on both the client's Do Not Call list and the COMPANY INTERNAL (Protocall's) DO NOT CALL list. Companies like this are scared to death of a lawsuit, FCC fines, or a call from a state's attorney's office so they police their list pretty well. Just make sure you get on it or they'll never let up.

If it truly is a company affiliated with AT&T, tell them that you'll turn them and AT&T in to the PUC (Public Utilities Commission) phone companies don't want to get them involved in any of their matters and will bend over backwards if you threaten that.  Give it a try and if it doesn't stop, turn them in to the PUC.  Once there's an investigation from them, AT&T will have to rethink who they hire to make these calls.

We get constant calls every day from this number saying that they are Verizon and review our bill and could save us some money.

We have asked them many times to send the offer in writing but they dont do it and call us again the next day.  Sometime there is a lot of background noises and sometime not.

My question is who are they, and where are they from ?

They always call our business number and ask for my husband. When I see 800 numbers I don't pull my husband away from work or talking with a customer. I always assume it is a bill collector or sales call. I always ask for their name or message but they decline and hang up.

These scumbags call me every day at 4:15 and leave a dial tone on my machine ,how can I make them stop??????????????????????????

Call center rep wasn't paying attention when they called my #. Call went to voice mail and I ended up with recording of call center chit chat. Sounded like a U.S call center.

Darrell Thomas just called. Said he was calling "on behalf of AT&T".  I said to him "Then you don't work for AT&T".  He just replied 'If you say so'.  I said 'Darrell, take my number off of your call list.  You're a slammer'.  He didn't agree with me - said AT&T hired his company to call me.  I said 'If I need AT&T, I'll call AT&T. Take my number off of your list. Goodbye'.

I have the same issues as others here. I called their phone number and got a recorded message: "Nova One call center".  They give you a 301 area code to speak to a human.  I did'nt persue it.  Gotta go another sales call.

They keep calling our office.  We are on the DNC registry, but it doesn't matter.  We tell them to put us on their DNC list, but it doesn't matter.  We already have AT&T.  Why are they trying to sell us on AT&T?

Similar to all the other posts my business continues to receive calls from this number and no one is on the line. If you are a business I recommend you call 877-253-0009 (ATT small business) and demand that you be placed on ATT's do not call list.

I just got a call from them also.  And they say they were calling using Verizon.  I went to their website while they were on the phone and searched for verizon.  Here is the headline:  VERIZON NAMES NOVO 1 ITS TOP VENDOR IN THE U.S. FOR SMALL BUSINESS TELEPHONE AND BROADBAND SALES.  If this is the case I may not want to do business with Verizon anymore!

Received 2 calls from this number today.  First time the lady said she wanted to speak to the person in charge of the Verizon account.  I told her we make no changes to our account unless WE intitiate the call.  She called back and asked for the owner - I recognized her voice and repeated our policy.  DO NOT EVER TRUST ANYONE WHO SAYS THEY ARE WITH YOUR TELEPHONE CARRIER.  THESE PEOPLE ARE RE-BILLERS AND YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE OUT INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO SOLICITS YOU!!!!

These people want to offer a discount on your bill and when you say ok, they have recorded your voice saying ok and then will switch your phone service using the recorded confirmation. They claim they are AT&T and are not.the one that conned one of our locations was World Com.

Getting multiple calls, no one is there.. very annoying!

As most of you could realize, the company doing this marketing have power. No one with a few dollars in the pocket is able to create a company like this with hundreds of telemarketers. There is big money behind this company, probably the same s**t of "The new AT&T" is behind this, or other millonarie.
You may realize that what they are doing is illegal, in fact, it is, but even when it it illegal we can't do anything to stop this. We can't even report to the authorities we sometime before elected. If some low range government employee try to go into this I'm sure he will be stopped the very first day.
This is illegal, this is insane but we can't do anything.
Now, just for one moment think that any of us go to Walmart and steal a bag of candies priced for $.59. You may imagine... four or five police cars, 20 swat members, black dressed, with heavy weapons... you know the stuff.... and all of this for just $.59

You can get the calls to stop by calling the president of the company whose name is Scott Kleinknecht and his office number is 301-361-1126.  Usually you'll get his voicemail.  I'm guessing though that if you called his home number which is 301-656-6768 and explained to him or his wife, Ellen (co-owner of the company)that each time that they call you you'll call him the phone calls will probably stop ;-)

How do I make them stop??  They call my office at least twice a day and on weekends.  I recently got caller ID so I never answer and of course there is never a message.  Before I got caller ID, I would BEG them to stop calling me but to no avail.

It is Novo 1 who is a partner with AT&T. Corp numbers are 877-810-7173 and 301-361-1111. Also call AT&T at 404-236-6000. Heck, AT&T is taking Novo to Hyatt Grand Palm Springs March 27-30 as a reward for pestering us so very well!

I get multiple calls from this number as well!  Today I answered and it was some guy trying to get me to change my internet service to AT&T.

Got call, wanted to talk to the person who handled the AT&T account.  I had trouble understanding him due to his accent.

I hung up.

I keep getting calls on my husbands business line from people who say they are ?calling on behalf of AT&T?. They are definitely not AT&T and call me every day. I've asked them to take us off the list numerous times and they obviously don't.

Go to this website, http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-759-5447/2, and scroll down to approx. the third entry. Provides the home telephone number for the scumbag behind these calls, should you feel like giving him a taste of his own medicine.

Otherwise, like another poster suggested on that website, report them to the FCC, Better Business Bureau, and FBI and see if that won't help. According to that poster, the phone calls stopped after his reporting them to these agencies.
