It is illegal to discuss your credit situation with anyone but you or your designated representative (mostly Attorney). Go to your courts and get a complaint form, get it filled out with appropriate help and sue them.

They call me at least 18 times a day, and there calling my job.  It's ridiculous, there must be some law against this.  It's harrassment!!!

Caller keeps calling about someone who doesnt live here, this is a business phone number and we cant keep getting these calls. we tried calling the number and the person on the other end is completely rude and doesnt want to here anything, maybe this is there way of collecting debt off people who give them wrong numbers. we need to get this stopped immediately.

These people call constantly, 7 days a week.  Even got one of these calls on Memorial Day.  It comes through on caller ID as 1-800-srvice or out of area but has the number listed as 1-866-843-5013.  This is absolutely ridiculous! I have picked up & said that my attorney has this number and will be contacting you people but they still keep calling.  I have even tried picking up and holding the phone up to the TV with the volume VERY LOUD but they still keep calling.  They do not play by the rules, they let the phone ring 3x & hang up before the answering machine picks up. They just called twice in the past 10 seconds while I was typing this.  How do I get these people to stop?  There has to be a law against this!

Just got off the phone with LaToya who was literally yelling at me and baiting me into an argument. See, I was delinquint on a credit card payment, so this number calls me literally 15 times a day, and when I didn't get back to them they called my parents and gave all of my credit information to them, which has got to be illegal. I don't live with my parents.
So this past Friday (today is a Sunday!) I made a payment and they promised me the phone calls would cease. But no! Yesterday, I talked to a man who after telling me I owe money said, "Oh, wait, I see here that you paid, I'm sorry sir." Ok, no problem.
But today. I answered and said to LaToya, "I paid you guys on Friday, why are you calling me on a SUnday morning?"
She said (not lying): "Sir, don't try to play that with me! You know you be charging stuff on Sundays."
"What does that even mean?"
"You know what it means, now make a payment and verify your address!"
When I wouldn't, because frankly, I think she was crazy, and asked for a supervisor, she started yelling. I mean yelling and cutting me off and all I was saying was: "get a supervisor because I am not going to give you any information."
She hung up on me.
I'd be upset by this, but then I realized they'll be calling me 25 times before the day is over, so I'll talk to someone.
This way of doing business has got to stop. It is harrassment, pure and simple.

Hello! I've gotten a few phone calls from the and reported them to the FTC in Washington. One reason they may be having difficulty contacting my son is that he is in the Army. Their computer would call in 3 call successions and not leave a message. They finally left a message (after 2 weeks of 3 call groups 4-5 times each day). I spoke to one of them and wanted to contact their quality control group. They would NOT put me through. I said they can either talk to me or to the FTC in DC. The 'young man' said to tell them hello and have them call him!  ...so I did.  :-)

As we all know, these people don't seem to play by the rules. However, a toll-free number isn't 'free'. It is a number where the long distance charges are paid by ... in this case ...Encore. I wouldn't want to say to call them ...everyday ...several times each day ... to tie up their phone lines and cost them money and keep them from doing business. Nor, would I suggest telling them that you are an American with freedom of speach and you don't like the way they do business. Nor would I even dare to suggest you tell all your friends, email friends, on-line group friends or everyone else you know to call them.

These people are doing to me what is written above, repeat calls 7 days a week, start at 5 in the morning my time EDT. NEVER any one there and they call me 10 times, COUNT EM 10 TIMES in a row in rapid succession. and they do about 12 rounds of this throughout the day. something has got to be done. i just don't know what. i even went out and bought and add on to my phone line where i don't have to pick up the phone. i push the button it say it's sorry that this caller doesn't accept this type of call, please remove this number from your list, twice and then hangs up on em. but man i'm tired of pushing the button. they are so bad i've turned the ringer off on my phones so i can get a break from this crap.

These folks will NOT stop calling. I don't pick up the phone and they keep ringing. They don't stop with one call at a time. If they don't get you the first time, they'll call at leaast two more times in succession. I suspect I know what it's about but let's face it, there is no need to call that much and it is certainly not concerning a matter that facilitates that many calls. I guess we're in a recession and nobody cares. Being someone who is trying desperately to find a stable job, it is discouraging that to add insult to injury, the calls I'm getting are from these people who aren't offering opportunities like I'd hope; just grilling you about money. To get it that many times is very disheartening and certainly can add to stress.
