Got the same kind of "official-looking" letter with the number saying:
Your home loan has gone under review for the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Relief Program. This recent review may enable you to streamline your mortgage into a new 30 year fixed interest rate with a lower monthly payment...

Annoying

An official looking document intended to get your attention and encourage you to open it.  Once you do, you find out its nothing more than an advertisement for a mortgage company.  It makes no reference to exactly which company it is and makes it appear that they are either your current mortgage company or, even worse, try to give you the impression that your mortgage and finances are somehow under scrutiny and need to be investigated.

Notice, how it lists a "case number", has a logo similar to the Dept of Justice and, has an official warning on the envelope, indicating how "obstructing" the delivery of this letter will carry dire consequences.

It does however, list the following in small print at the bottom:

"Licensed by the Department of Corporations; we are not sponsored by or affiliated with your lender, HUD, FHA or any government agency."

Do not fear or fall for these (or any similar mailer) you may receive.  Simply throw them away or even better, recycle them.  That way, they may turn into something really useful in the future like a pizza box or the very piece of paper that eventually convicts these con men and criminals once and for all.

How this "company" knows the balance of my home mortgage is a bit disconcerting. It is strange that there is absolutely no identifying information whatsoever (other than a toll free number to call). This solicitation is highly suspect, so I am tossing it in the shredder.

P.S. My mailer states the following at the bottom:

"**Please have your current mortgage statement available when you call"

Had papers sent to me. Sure 3.5% then in the small print 8.5 to 9.
Told my "personal loan rep" for get about it
Now my wife gets them.

I received the same piece of mail.  Promising my monthly interest payment would go down by $350.

Any organization that cannot provide their full legal name and address to me has no business getting my business.

Got the same mailing. "Licenced by the Department of Corporations" it reads at the bottom. Also: "we are not sponsered by or affiliated with your lender, HUD, FHA or any goverment agency"

So this Department of Corporations is made up by some scam artist dude and this "Department" obviously has no real address.

Toss it out!

It was signed  "Sincerely, Loan Processing Department". It was never clear on who the financial institufion was. If you get this junk mail, toss it!! I did!!

I re'cd a mailing with this # to call. It looked to be from a finacial institution, had logo's etc. However what got my attention was that it referanced a company I did bussiness with 20+ years ago, and who is now out of bussiness. Whoever it is, they have really outdated info, Probably a stupid scammer.
