I received a call today from 877-234-1838.  He said his name was Jim Rectal or Rectol from Global C and C.  About two weeks ago I got a call but no message from 905.  That was all there was on caller ID.  It is the area code for Ontario.  About 5-6 weeks ago I received a call from someone named Priam Moses from this place.  The night before Easter I was watching the Ten Commandments movie and there was this scene where someone called out a person named Priam and then they said Moses.  I freaked out.  Is Rectal a real last name ? or Priam a real first name?  They want my checking account and routing numbers.

I received several calls for somebody else from this number. When I called back, I found out
that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection. I found there website
( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number. They
told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

These guys were calling me about an account that was real old.
You can't expect me to pay for something from 5 years ago!!!  
I tried talking to them but they didn't seem to get it.  
I googled their company name "Global Credit" and found their website.
I sent a request to stop bugging me.  A manager called me back a couple days
later and told me they were closing my account.

Mr. Phabo from Globe Services has been harrassing my In-Laws. They were not even on my reference credit list or copayers. How he got their number, I have no idea. They do not appreciate getting calls from him or someone in the company constantly. Whoever called was asking personal questions which they or I don't appreciate.
Monthly bills to Cap. 1 was being pd each month so do not know why Mr. Phabo took it upon himself to harass people who has nothing to do with my credit card. My In-Laws would like him and others to cease and desist from contacting them.

The number showing on the coller ID is 905 413 8727 the message is for a "Charles" from Michelle at Global Credit the 905 number is from Credit One.

I called the 905 number and they claim "Your call is important to us please hold on the line for the next available person to assist you" after twenty minutes I hung up and called the 877 number I reached "Michelles voice mail. The other day when I first received the message I called the 877 234 1838 ext 6537 and reached "Michelle" I started by telling her that the message was left on an incorrect number. "Michelle" said hold please she then came back on line asking if my address was ... I replied I am not giving out any information other than she was calling the wrong phone number. Michelle hung up. I called right back and asked to speak to a supervisor and was dumped in someones voice mail.

I am going to report both numbers to the FCC, FTC and the attorney General as Harrassment calls.

Just on my own experience.... collection calls no longer bother me, infact I don't feel threaten anymore. It only made sense to me when I started reading books about collection and how to handle them. Read, read  and read about them and you'll soon realize that these people are just sitting in a small cubicle trying to annoy and harrass people which by the way is their goal so will take action. One advice is to never pay over the phone, ask them to send you something in the mail or better yet settlement for 10% or less of course via mail.

I wish I can write everything but I think it will be too long for me to do. Just because you owe someone doesn't give them the right to embarass, annoy or irritate you. Handle each call intelligently and you can do it without a lawyer.

I got a string of calls first saying they were looking for somebody I do not know and they wanted my help.  The calls came from cell phones in Florida and they gave me a different Florida cell phone to call back.  Then this irate a--hole left a very rude and threatening voice message ordering me to call him back.  And today a similar sounding guy was more composed but stern and hinting at legal action and how this needed to be cleared up during this tax season.  He said he was from Global and gave the same number as his rude alter ego:  877-234-1838.  Another number given back in December was 866-350-4275.  This has been going on since around Thanksgiving 2010.

I called and asked for business name before disclosing any information. They wanted my name. Then put me on hold. So I hung up.

Rule #1 - if they will not give you full business information and the nature of the call - no personal details are needed to do this, then do not give them personal information.

Researching the 877 number revealed nothing significant.  Then I read these postings and found the number 905 480-1331.  It was found  in the peoplesmart phone look up and revealed that these calls originate from Canada - hence the 877 number does not register. Also when you call it there may be a charge unless your phone service provides free calls to US and Canada - it is not toll free to US phones.

The location is Unionville, Ontario as best I can tell without paying money near the intersection of Dennison and Copeland Avenues.

I called the 905 480-1331 number and it sure was the number from which Kate called - her extension 6167 worked just fine and Franks extension 8712 did not.

I should have sent in a bunch of * to drive their phone system nuts or get to an operator.

It appears that this tactic lets these people call anyone in the US without penalty. The do not call list stops at the border. Any complaints should be made to Canadian authorities or the Department of State (Like they will really do anything).

Rule #2 - if you cannot find the phone number in reverse lookup, it is likely a non-us number so ignore the call - or call them back and harass them.

Change this Rule #2 to first Google the phone number it is faster to help tell what is happening.

Now for more information - the company is apparently GCC or Global Credit and Collections.

I just called back to Kate at the number from my original call and verified that CGG was the calling company.

Please feel free to call her and say Hello.  Just say that one of her callers suggested that you call. Reverse harassment could help. Ask to verify the the company is Global Credit and Collection.

Apparently they claim to work for Capital One - so call Capital One and complain. Or better yet write an email to abuse@capitalone.com.  Let them know this is trade mark infringement or damaging the Captial One brand. Guess that we all know that they do work for CaptialOne.

So in my case it looks like I will be closing my CaptialOne accounts. There is not much one person can do, but if you all close your accounts, CaptialOne may take notice. I have served notice on CapitalOne to this effect.

FYI my CapitalOne accounts are NOT in any way delinquent. I pay the full amount owed every month. Regardless, I will be closing these accounts. I encourage you to close your accounts with CaptialOne as well.

One of my clients is receiving calls from this company. The message left is very angry and rude. It's cut off so if a person's name is left, I'm unaware of it.

I called them back this evening (1/17/11) to try get the name of the person calling, the name of the company and determine the reason they were calling.

I gave the name of the company they called, but they couldn't pull up a record of having called anyone from that company. They asked for the phone number they called, but I wouldn't give it to them.

When I asked for the name of the person I was speaking to, he said Mr. (something incoherent). I asked him to spell it, he asked for my name, which I did give him. I asked him to spell his last name again, he asked me more questions. I finally gave up on getting his name and asked for the name of the company. He said, "Global International". I asked what they did, he said they were involved in a number of different retail businesses but stammered and seemed nervous. It all seemed very fishy.

Yeah, same here.  Only it was a woman, calling for somebody I DO NOT know, and they've called about six times now, twice per day, or so, once forever ago.  It's getting really obnoxious.  She's getting really annoying.  I've been in school every time, and they're all the days I forget to shut it off, so it's just drilling a whole in my hip.... Starting to get on my nerve.  It's not too bad, though, because they didn't answer when I tried to call, but I just keep getting these messages...

My co-workers and I received multiple calls from this number at our office.  It said something like "there is no reason why you have not returned our call.  Please call us immediately..."  We called the number and they said someone would be right with us.  Eventually, after nobody picked up, we were sent to a voicemail box for the same man who was on the recording that called out work (the man sounded unecessarily upset on the message).  I'm guessing it's a scam as well.

i finally got fed up with it today after about a month of this s***.
i called back to see what was up ...
it turns out that my dad has "a case against him" -- i'm guessing my dad is being sued ??

i talked to a man named MR. TAHBO -- 1.877.234.1838 ext. 6406.
this seemed legit :P

i asked for details & the man said that since i was only his daughter, he wasn't allowed to disclose any information.

If anybody has bills you should just start paying them. CEASE AND DESIST so they cannot call you and make sure you send in some kind of payment once a month. Whatever you do dont contact an attorney because they will just charge you an arm and a leg (scam you into gettin more into debt), your better off paying your bill. Make sure you tell them to Cease and Desist and again send in some kind of payment once a month. Things will be okay. Trust! A lot of the time if you post date checks Global will be willing to 0 out your interest for you. This company is legitimate and can be rude but ask to speak to a supevisor or manager and they will help you out
