Just received a call from 877-290-8355, supposedly from Windows support center, spoke to Cristine Lama. If this is in fact a scam, these people need to be prosecuted.

I think they may be just like technicians, except that they play with elect-i-ons instead of electrons.

Yup, all shills are always happy.. happy when they try to scam, happy when they accomplish it, happy until they get caught shilling and definitely unhappy when the scam fails..

Oh, by the way, you got caught shilling, and you just lost money so that must make you a unhappy shill at the moment..

We got the same call from Main Source 365 Tech after our computers started acting weird  - of course we were suspect (duh). They fixed part of the problem, then asked for a check.  After they got our check, they remoted in, fixed the rest of the problem(s), and have been doing so for the last 3 months.  They check in regularly, usually by computer, sometimes our agent calls to make sure everything is OK.  We have been very happy with their service.

Its a scam and all they want is your money! They have no way of knowing whats going on with your computer and No legitimate company cold calls like this.  The scam usually entails them taking you to your event viewer which is a internal monitor that logs events on your computer.. Oh sure, you will see the error's logged, but its all a scam to get you to allow them access to your computer. The event viewer is only doing its job and its there for a real tech to look through should you actually have a problem. Then they want remote access! They usually turn your anti virus program off  and give you a big spiel, then inform you they want a small fee to fix it.. several hundred dollars of course! Meanwhile, they have access to all your computer and could be gleaning personal info, downloading stuff to your computer to turn it into a zombie computer to spam folks..

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

We aren't buying it shill.  Any company that cold calls claiming there is a problem on your computer and they can fix it if you let them have remote access is a scam pure and simple.  It is not possible for them to know in advance that there is a problem on your or anyone elses computer.  I doubt you know any more about computers than where the on/off button is.

877-290-8355 was the call back number I was given. After I asked where "Ryan" got my number and asked him to verify it, he hung up. SCAM! NEVER let someone remote your computer. If you need help, you call for it, never accept a direct call to you, unsolicited!

I got a call not from this number ( from 315-100-0123) but from this company Main Source Tech last week. I informed them I have a brand new computer and the guy quickly said good and hung up. I got another call today and tried to find information on this company while I spoke to him. I could not find ANYTHING. I asked him for the company's website and he did not know it. I asked for the phone number and he got his supervisor on the phone. She told me that the company website was down, but will be back up shortly, yet did not give me the address. I asked for the company phone number and was given 877- then she hung up on me. SCAM

Got a call from this # and the name of the business is Main Source 365 Tech.  I felt it was a scam but fell for it and paid them $51 through PayPal.  I called the # back to find out why no one has called me to fix my computer and no one was available.  Quite convenient as I really do need their assist to clean up my computer.  Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do to get my money back?

Again. . . again. . . again. . . These companies do you NO good. A $20 box of Kaspersky (or any other antivirus, internet security), a GOOD defrag of your computer, uninstall all those toolbars (that want to sneak on, if you're not watching), plus all those other useless crap-ware, and you are good to go. I would NEVER turn over control of my computer to a 3rd party, that wants to charge me hundred$. Getting Internet security & computer repair from someone off the Internet? Why not just GIVE them your credit card number & bank account information. It's quicker.
