the man said his name was Jay Sawyer, very rude, when I said the person they were looking for wasn't available, he said who are you, the roommate or something?? Like it's any of his business.

call from 877-298-1990, I call back to speak with the person that leaves there name and I was told that person is no longer there. Very rude person that answers. I have nothing in the mail telling me about the bill.

I received a call from a Mr. Stone about a loan from back in 2007. He threaten me saying he was a Fraud Investigator and that I will be arrested for fraud if I do not pay this debt.He behavior is stranger for a businessman, he cursed at me among other things. The voice mail says the name of the company is Burns Prescott & Stewart. When I asked him what was the name and address of the company he told me that the name of the company was Abbott Recovery and the address is 255 Delaware Ave. Buffalo NY 14220. I'm wondering how many offices do these ppl have. When I searched for Abbott Recovery another company popped up and it was NOT a debt collector it was some sort of lab company. I asked him for an invoice of the money that is owed and he told me that they don't send out invoices, that was for the company that I took out the loan to do. He also demanded that I give him my debit card/banking info and if I didn't he was gonna sign off on a warrant for my arrest. I DID NOT COMMIT A FRAUD, I LOST MY JOB and was unable to pay! He also contacted my Mom and Aunt stating to be a Fraud Investigator and called them several times and left messages. The number he's calling from is  1-866-281-7320. I want to know if these ppl are a SCAM, I am a single mother on public assistance and cant afford to just be giving my baby's money away to some scammers. TIMES ARE REALLY RUFF FOR ME RIGHT NOW. I only receive $270.00 a month and they want $100.00 per month for 5 months. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS! I know that they have violated all type of Debt Collector LAWS.! Are these people SCAMMERS

When a "company" calls claiming to be lawyers and law enforcment when they are not, they are breaking the law. When a "company" calls, making threats and demanding you pay them with out sending the paperwork to prove you owe a debt when asked, they are breaking the law and are scammers.

People may owe debts, but that has nothing to do with the fact that the people related to this number are breaking the law, and are scammers and thieves.

thank you guys so much..These people have been harassing me for months with CRAZY messages about Fraud and Lawsuits..I finally called them back and when I heard who the company was I GOGGLED them and Found you guys...I did call back and informed them they were on the WEB and KNOWN to just be SCAM ARTISTS..I will be following up with the the NY State Attorney Generals Office and Contacting my Attorney for the harassing phone calls. I did state I run my business out of my home and to not call this number again..but I thanked them for them Laugh.....

We shall see..I actually am looking forward to CONSTANCE (or that what she says her name is) to call again..I will have some phone at discussing how pitiful her life must be harassing innocent hardworking people..

Called and hung on me 5 times FOR THREE DAYS. I called back and they put me on hold and never came back. Another time I called they said they couldnt find my account or name and simply hung right up! Then they called again 2 days later. If I get another call from these people they will be hearing from my ATTORNEY! I have paid everything I owed when I refinanced my home 3 years ago so stop CALLING ME! Get a PHONEBOOK!

They were recently sued(may 2010) by the attorney general!
google Nys Attorney General sues EASTERN ASSETT MANAGEMENT, rent an attorney John Paul Nicolia. They bought him for 80k and never sued anybody! These are the same people/owners. It should be on your credit report if you really owe it and I assure you you dont owe anything to these scum. They have no real attorneys and no intent or authority to sue anyone.

If you are going to try and Scam people out of money at least get a clue as to what the Collecting Laws are it is so funny that they think people are going to be stupid enough to send them money without proof of the debit and by law they have to show proof be for they can sue or file any kind of claim against you. My husband works in collections and I know the laws and what people can not and can do to you. I got a call from these people today and it is funny that they are only a 2 person staff and they do not have caller ID and cannot tell where you are calling from a real collection agency can see you calling a mile away, your account is linked to you # and it comes up in there system it is 2010 people are not going to say hold on let me get your file SCAM SCAM SCAM by Law they have got to show proof of debit!! Learn to scam stupid people!!

I answer, ask questions, they put me on hold.  Phone line will go dead.  Call back, no answer.  Ask for more informatin when they call back (which they do way too often) and phone line goes dead.  So annoying!

Contact the NYS Attorney Generals office. They do not have a staff attorney. They are in violation of the F.D.C.P.A. It also appears that they open and close up shops frequently and recently filed bankruptcy but continue to opperate illegally. Record all phone calls and ask for proof of debt, they won't have it.

They leave messages fraudulently trying to create the impression they are attorneys or some arm of the legal system. They claim the voicemails "serve as legal notice" that a "complaint" has been filed in their office and demand a call from "you or your attorney" referencing a "case number." Anyone know if that qualifies as a misrepresentation under the Fair Debt Collection Act?

Have they actually taken any legal action against anyone here? Or is it all threats? Making threats they don't intend to keep is actually against the Act, too.

When I call them, they give only their names, but when pressed, they claim to be the "fraud division" at Abbott Recovery.

I they told me that they recieved my number from my county and that they were filing legal documents with my county and if I did not get back to them in a timely matter, god bless and good luck. I callled the back and they staed PMG recovery.

they told me the same thing!! she was very rude also then she called back and left a message saying my attorney needed to call her back.. they have been caliing and calling even at 9pm!

They told me it was going to my local court and it is some kind of fraud case??!!
